If you don’t have anything nice to say about Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine doesn’t want you to say it at all.
The Maroon 5 singer recently stood up for his fellow “Voice” coach at a press event in New York, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In response to critics of Aguilera’s physical appearance, Levine said, “People shouldn’t say those kind of things because, f- you. It’s like, come on guys, grow up.”
“The one thing about the culture right now – celebrity culture particularly – that is so ugly is [that] people feel like they can just say nasty things about other people … she gets a lot of it. It pisses me off,” he added.
Despite Levine and Aguilera’s tiffs on the NBC singing competition, Levine told reporters, via THR, “They were silly bickering things that brother and sister would do … it was never serious. We’re all good, Christina and I.”
In addition to coaching hopeful singers on “The Voice,” Levine appears as Leo on FX’s “American Horror Story.”
