Seeing how they're basically BFFs now, it follows that President Obama and Jay-Z would get around to talking about personal stuff, like their kids.
As Obama pointed out a recent fundraiser Jay and his wife Beyonce held for the president at Jay's 40/40 club in New York, the two men actually have a few things in common. Both of them are married to women who are more popular than they are, and both men are also fathers of girls.
And so, during a recent radio interview with Cleveland station Z107.9, via the Huffington Post, Obama noted that he's given his pal Jay a few words of parenting wisdom.
"I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyonce out with the baby," Obama said, referring to the couple's daughter, Blue Ivy. "And not leaving it all with mom and the mother-in-law."
If that seems a little forward, well, they are pretty close, the president continued.
"I’ve gotten to know these guys over the first several years. They’re good people. They're down-to-earth," he said. "Beyonce could not be sweeter to Michelle and the girls. So they’re good friends. ... We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends."
Too bad that the president didn't have any pull with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office - while Jay-Z and Bey clearly have friends in high places, the famous couple still lost their bid to trademark Blue Ivy's name.
