Instead, the just-over-a-minute long clip invokes a retro style as it introduces Lindsay Lohan as "Tara" - who's "sweet as sin," the trailer tells us - and James Deen's "Christian," the "boy next door ... gone bad!"
"Canyons," directed by "American Gigolo" and "Hardcore" helmer Paul Schrader, has been described as a thriller set in Los Angeles that follows a group of 20-somethings on a journey to find "power, love, sex and success in 2012 Hollywood."
The clip gives us just a bit more exposition, explaining that "in the Canyons, everything goes," with it being a place where "the sex is as cheap as the budget."
"The only way out," the trailer warns, "is death."
No, "The Hills" this is not. There isn't a specific release date for "The Canyons," but IMDb suggests we could see it arrive in 2013. What do you think of the trailer?
