Sit back, relax and fix yourself a martini - shaken, not stirred - as we present to you the "Connoisseurs Guide to James Bond" in honor of International Bond Day.
Today marks the 50th anniversary of the release of the first Bond film, "Dr. No," which launched an iconic franchise spun from Ian Fleming's novels.
The 1962 flick starred Sean Connery as Bond, Ursula Andress as Honey Rider and Joseph Wiseman as Dr. No. While Connery is a favorite for his portrayal of the dashing 007, a variety of actors have taken on the part, from Roger Moore to Pierce Brosnan to Daniel Craig, who stars in November's 23rd Bond film, "Skyfall."
In honor of Bond's 50th, CNN spoke with Bond "connoisseur" John Cork, the co-writer of the "James Bond Encyclopedia" and "James Bond: The Legacy."
Check out the video above to hear Cork's top Bond moments, from his favorite Bond girl (Diana Rigg's Tracy in 1969's "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"), to his favorite moment, which happens in 1977's "The Spy Who Loved Me."
I can't wait to see this movie ... I will even sneek in a martini, shaken of course!
I can't argue with any of John's best moments...especially the opening of The Spy Who Loved Me.
i always love goldfinger.
she's just the ultimate betrayal to bond
Goldfinger sukkkks. All my friends and I who were advised to see Goldfinger after watching all the Moore films were sorely disappointed.
Goldfinger was one of my favorites
The best James Bond was Sean Connery. No one else even comes close.
Maud Adams was also a Bond Girl in The Man With The Golden Gun, & was an extra in A View To A Kill. Your Bond kung fu is weak
Barry Nelson actually portrayed Bond first, 8yrs before Sean Connery. So the next time you're showing your a$s trying to make others look dumb, make sure you get your facts straight so you don't look even dumber.
octopuzzy is the one.
Peter Goss, deserves to be in the Basketball Ha ll o Fame.
Cheltenham Townhsip Pa., has produced a Bucket of Mult-talented people.
One person was the leader of this large group: Peter Goss of Meadowbrook Pa., was a giant of a man who tuaght the
world that be a good perosn is the most important thing we do. In the annals of Cheltenham Township, Peter Goss was
the best man we had.
Looking over the comments everyone is posting makes me wonder at A the average age of people on here and B the IQ rating....
He would be 82...thats how old Sean Connery is after all...you know...the first Bond?? Y'all know who that is right?
And Google Maud Adams and you will see Octapu**y....
but i do love OCTOPU22Y
OctoMom, lame I know, just being a smart ass. Lol
That's the chick that has 8 kids, right?
The newest Bond looks kind of gay. Time for an African American 007.
I think your gay?!? And stop trying to re-write everything black. That's racist!
i sincerely hope you're being silly. bond is not even american let alone african american. bond already has a recurring african american character, felix who is a cia agent. actually he's one of the few recurring characters in the series that gets some respect.
Roger Moore actually recommended Cuba Gooding Jr. Look it up!
I wonder who changes his poooopy diapers?
He is ancient. Been at it for fifty years and had to be 20 or so when he started secret agent stuff. That would make him 70 years old or older. That is oooooold. I sure hope he is wearing his adult diapers. Maybe he can hunt bad guys in the nursing home.
Didn't he already do that in "Never Say Never Again"?
