While you were working ...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • It looks like Andrew Garfield will suit up for “The Amazing Spider-Man” sequel, which is expected to begin filming in early 2013. Director Marc Webb has also signed on, though we’re not sure about Emma Stone just yet. [THR]
  • It pains us to tell you that “Franklin & Bash” star Breckin Meyer (or as we like to call him, Josh from “Road Trip”) and his wife Deborah Kaplan are splitting after almost 11 years together. [E!]
  • Country singer Jason Aldean was photographed canoodling with “American Idol’s” Brittany Kerr over the weekend. The husband and father of two has since apologized to his fans saying, “I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar.” We’re standing by for a song detailing the event. [WhoSay]
  • You can set your DVR now: “Liz & Dick” finally has a premiere date. Lifetime’s Elizabeth Taylor biopic, starring Lindsay Lohan, will debut on November 25 at 9 p.m. ET. [Deadline]
  • Based on columns by “The New Yorker’s” Ian Frazier comes his novel, “The Cursing Mommy’s Book of Days.” The print version comes out on Tuesday, but we can’t wait for the audio edition, which is narrated by Cynthia Nixon. (Listen at your own risk. The word “cursing” is in the title for f-’s sake.) [Publisher’s Weekly]

Magic is back on 'Once Upon a Time'

When we last left Storybrooke, Rumpelstiltskin had unleashed magic on the town. And with that, many residents realized they were once fairytale characters. Regina's spell was broken.

Sunday night's "Once Upon a Time" was everything you could want in a season premiere. The episode opened in New York, where a Mysterious Man received a simple postcard from the town with the words "Broken" written on the back. Hmm...

Seth MacFarlane to host 85th Academy Awards

It’s amazing what talking into the wrong microphone at the Emmy Awards can do for your career.

Just one week after Seth MacFarlane’s mic mishap, which he recovered from by joking, “This is what happens when you don’t come to rehearsal,” CNN has confirmed that the “Family Guy” creator will host the 85th Academy Awards.

Burning questions on '666 Park Avenue'

The beginning of "666 Park Avenue" took me back 20 years to the short-lived "Ben Stiller Show." Stiller played a radio talk show host whose caller was obviously the devil. But, being a parody of horror shows like "Tales from the Darkside," it took a ridiculously long time for him to figure it out.

In the opening minutes of "666 Park Avenue," a violinist who played with bleeding hands was punished by being sent to another dimension - or perhaps eternal damnation - while the street address of his apartment building, 999 Park Avenue, appeared upside down (666) thanks to a shadow.

So, when Jane and her boyfriend Henry moved into the Drake apartment complex at the address in question, I immediately started wondering how long it would take for them to figure out that they've stepped into what could very well be the gateway to hell.
