The royal family is often targeted by paparazzi, as evidenced by the topless photos of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, originally published by a French magazine earlier this month.
And it seems films about the royal family are no exception.
Filming “Diana,” which stars Naomi Watts as the late princess, on a yacht on the open sea led Ecosse Films to make an exclusive deal with the Splash News & Picture Agency, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Rather than fending off tons of photographers, the arrangement apparently grants the agency “access to the best photo angles.”
The irony in all of this is the fact that, as royal biographer Christopher Andersen recently told CNN, Prince William and Prince Harry blame paparazzi for the 1997 death of their mother, who was killed in a Paris traffic accident.
“Diana” is being directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (“Five Minutes of Heaven”) and is expected to be released in August 2013.
