For a movie that's due out December 14, it's about time we got another look at "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey."
A new trailer for Peter Jackson's return to Middle-earth arrived Wednesday, giving us a lighter tone and more explanation of the plot.
The first trailer, released in December, introduced a young Bilbo Baggins as well as a company of dwarves, setting a more dramatic scene as Bilbo embarked on his journey, unsure if he'd ever return.
This time around, we get plenty of action as our favorite Hobbit and Co. take off for the Lonely Mountain, encountering beastly obstacles. Andy Serkis' Gollum also makes an appearance, as Martin Freeman's Bilbo offers to partake in a "game of riddles."
What do you think of the trailer? "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" is just the first in a series of three films for Jackson based on J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit."
"Unexpected Journey" is set to arrive December 14, followed by "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" on December 13, 2013. The third film in the "Hobbit" franchise is expected to bow in the summer of 2014.
