Annie Lennox ties the knot in London

The third time will hopefully be the charm for Annie Lennox.

The 57-year-old singer married Dr. Mitch Besser on September 15 in London, Lennox's rep tells CNN. The private ceremony was attended by family and friends.

According to People magazine, Lennox, who has been married twice before, walked down the aisle in a long white gown, accessorized with a lace bolero and a 1920s-inspired headpiece.

The singer's two daughters, whom she had with former husband Uri Fruchtmann, reportedly served as bridesmaids.

American gynecologist Besser, also 57, founded the organization mothers2mothers, which aims to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

people's ignorance is always amazing. androgyny is not lesbianism. annie loves the short hair, and it suits her, it always has. she has incredible talent, brains, style, and is always giving back to the world. she is the opposite of ignorance and destruction. that so many people are startled and confused to see someone who looks different from their teeny tiny linear idea of normal, shows how unenlightened and dumb people are, and remain.

She has always been proud of being androgynous. I was expecting her to marry a woman this time. Still, I wish her luck.

You two dorks (Kevin & Thomas) must not have a clue who this wonderful singer is. And, that she is definitely a beautiful woman. People do age you know, and you will too, maybe....and you might even grow up!
