LiLo: Why hasn't a certain Nickelodeon star gone to jail?Lindsay Lohan's vehicular drama has been well-documented, so you could say she speaks from a position of authority on driving crimes and punishment. On Sunday night, LiLo - who was sentenced to a day in jail in 2007 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor cocaine use and driving under the influence - tweeted a question that seemed to be in reference to Amanda Bynes, another former child star who's lately had her own string of road-related legal trouble. The 26-year-old actress, who starred in Nickelodeon shows "All That" and "The Amanda Show" before moving on to movies such as 2006's "She's the Man," was charged last week with two misdemeanor hit-and-run counts following alleged involvement in incidents that took place on April 10 and August 4. There's also Bynes' April 6 arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence after she allegedly ran into a cop car. And then on the morning of September 16, Bynes was cited for driving on a suspended license and police then impounded her vehicle. Lohan, also 26, is curious why Bynes hasn't faced harsher consequences. "Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?," Lohan posted to her Twitter account Sunday night. "These are the moments that I appreciate my life experiences, living without regrets and Disney for supporting me as an actress - night all."

I don't know why she would ask this question. Our country doesn't dish out laws equally, that's been proven repeatedly over the last 50 years. Shoot, a Kennedy once ran over a guy on a motorcycle and killed him and he got off without even remotely being held accountable for his actions.
She is not in jail because she wasn't snorting coke and chasing people down in that car. Also, she is innocent until proven guilty. When/if she is proven guilty she may face jail time.

It's sad to hear the news that Ms. Bynes has been having trouble lately. She was one of the few child stars who'd seemingly grown up to become a well thought out young adult. Now she's having all these troubles with alcohol. I hope she gets it together and goes back to the path of light. I'm holding out hope that she's a good person who has just gone a bit astray.

Uhm...maybe because Lohan was booked on charges of possession of cocaine, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license....and spent a whopping 84 MINUTES in jail. Not to mention when she had the bracelet on for a DUI, she failed sobriety tests. Lohan is a serious threat to society behind the wheel, and its very obvious these experiences did nothing to teach her anything. She's still showing up at movie sets drugged out and drunk. Lohan has learned nothing from any of her experiences, yet she thinks she has a right to talk about someone who's been in a lot less trouble than her? Lohan went from being this sweet little girl to a mess of a young adult. When she completely cleans up her life...cuts out all the drugs, and booze...then she can talk about others. Until then she has absolutely no right to point a finger at anyone else.

That just shows that she still thinks that she deserved to get a free pass, unlike the rest of the world. Just because some other person doesn't get punished as harshly doesn't mean that you're innocent. She commited crimes several times and still won't admit that she was in the wrong. Hit and run on the 4th. DUI on the 6th. Another hit and run on the 10th. Finally driving on a suspended license on the 16th. There are enough "repeat" offenses there to take her license away for a very long time and the DUI should have automatic jail time involved.
