'The Voice' to battle 'X Factor's' premiereThe competition between NBC's "The Voice" and Fox's "The X Factor" is now a little less friendly. The two singing competitions are both launching their fall seasons next week, and at first, NBC's "The Voice" was going to premiere on September 10 and September 11.
Meanwhile, Fox's "X Factor" would debut its new judges panel, including Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, on September 12 and September 13. But that was before NBC decided "The Voice" needed an extra night of blind auditions. The network announced Wednesday that "The Voice's" third season premiere will now be a three-night affair, stretching from September 10 through September 12. The first night will be the previously scheduled two-hour debut, with the following two nights highlighting blind auditions from 8-9 p.m. ET. The move has turned next Wednesday, September 12 into a head-to-head competition as Fox will kick off a new season of "X Factor" at 8 p.m. And since "X Factor" now features a judging panel that also contains Britney, this is all feeling very 1999 to us. Of course, rumor has it Simon Cowell is not at all pleased. Which show do you think will win the night on Wednesday: Christina Aguilera's "The Voice" or Britney's "X Factor"? |

The Voice is the much better show.
It’ll be tough to choose which show to watch live since Britney and Christina are great pop stars and they both can help each of their respective contestants. I work the night shift at Dish so I’m glad I turned on the PrimeTime Any Time feature on my Hopper to see both shows when I get. My DVR now automatically records three hours of primetime coverage on the big four networks. I’ve already caught a few of the early fall show premieres and next week is brimming with drama since it’s more like Team Simon vs. NBC!
