Country singer Eric Church has gone from being among the best new artists to leading the pack of this year's CMA nominees.
The "Springsteen" singer has nabbed five nominations with the 46th annual CMA Awards, beating out married crooners Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, as well as country pop princess Taylor Swift.
Church, who just a year ago was vying for his first CMA award (which he ended up losing to The Band Perry), has been nominated for Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year with his hit song "Springsteen." He's also up for Album of the Year ("Chief") and Male Vocalist of the Year.
Shelton and Lambert aren't far behind with four nominations each. Shelton's competing in the Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year (“God Gave Me You”) categories, while his wife is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year ("Four the Record") and Music Video of the Year ("Over You").
The couple also share a nomination for Song of the Year with "Over You," which they wrote together.
Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Taylor Swift and Little Big Town all received three nods each.
Swift, last year's Entertainer of the Year winner, is nominated once again in that category along with Shelton, Aldean, Chesney and Paisley.
The 22-year-old songstress will also compete in the Musical Event of the Year category with her song from "The Hunger Games" soundtrack, "Safe & Sound" with The Civil Wars, as well as in the Female Vocalist category.
In addition to Miranda Lambert, Swift will also be up against Kelly Clarkson for the Female Vocalist honor, which is the first time Clarkson's been nominated in that category.

We'll find out the winners on Thursday, November 1 when the 46th annual CMA Awards airs live from Nashville at 8 p.m. on ABC. Fan favorite hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will return to lead the ceremony for the fifth time.
What's with the gimmicky disguise? The cap and sunglasses are boring. I'd like to know what the guy looks like, because I find his music to be nothing special, so maybe I could form a better opinion if he didn't hide behind his props.
Eric Church is an awesome artist. Got to see him up close at the Illinois State Fair this summer and was worth every penny. He rocked the place.
Grass Root Kids is the new Country
you bloggers think everyone is gay s-up
No..that picture of Eric Church is NOT Gay at all..nope..not gay....

rank is the same as the others....casti is higher then she is....its all hot air–maybe family has something but she is the same as everyone else.
ja knows i'm done for today. bb if u need be. thanks eyes.
there a bunch of dirty hillbillies.
i still love pickles myself...
I like them kosher pickles. The bread-n-butter kind are good too if homemade. My favorite kosher meal is a thick ham sandwich with bacon on it ! And tomatter and mayonnaise. Mmmmmmm. And sweet tea. Mmmmm
if we were "kosher" you could have come to see a little of the show tomorrow night..i open the show now and you still do the thursday nights. we'll see maybe someday you'll be able to see it.
its not steady at all, its just that when someone remembers they will call and ask if can do it. rehearsals kill me now.
i've sung these 2 songs 367 times each in 4 days. lol
Yeeeehaw. Cawnrty musik. Collard greens and possum.
hey....don't know collard greens and possum until you have tried them. Collard greens wilted in bacon fat and blackened possum steak is mighty tasty.
Real country or soul food cooks boil the collard greens. While they are boiling, we fry up some pork fatback. The pork grease is then poured into the pot with the greens an cooked some more. The fried fatback slices are placed inside sliced homemade biscuits. You can also add a slice of tomato and some blue plate mayonnaise in that biscuit too. Mmmmmmmm. This goes best with fried ocrie and green beans. Mmmmmmmm.
It's "COUNTRY" music awards. Why do you even bring up Lady Gaga? As to the 'necks, hicks, rebel flags and chewing tobacco' comment, you obviously have never attended the CMA awards show. Now, Eric Church. I liked most of his music and even bought some of his music. However, I lost all respect for this guy after reading his interview with RollingStone Magazine. I wouldn't walk across the street to see this jerk play for free. Single,Song,Music video and Album of the Year nominations? If Nashville thinks Eric Church made the best album of the year, country music is worse off than we ever imagined.
she has to be a bore at where she is also...she's just a huge bore.
I bet these country folk all think Honey Bo Bo is adorable.
gaga is a putz-feed her
good thing another country awards show is coming...there hasn't been one in minutes!
Ok, you made me laugh on that one!
None of these rednecks are as talented as Lady GaGa.
No one likes 'necks or 'hicks. I bet there will be rebel flags and chewing tobacco everywhere. Just gross.
I bet if you lived with the what you call hicks, your life would be much better. Eric Church came from a small town(very Small) and I think you are just jealous. And I am a country girl and I Love Myself, but you on the other hand must be disappointed in yourself!!
there is a stones 50th tour..
