Lohan as Liz Taylor in new 'Liz & Dick' photosNow that production on Lifetime's "Liz & Dick" has wrapped, the network has issued a few new photos of Lindsay Lohan as Dame Taylor and Grant Bowler as Richard Burton. The film chronicles Taylor and Burton's larger-than-life love affair and tumultuous relationship. The first still released of Lohan and Bowler in character was a black-and-white photo that evoked old Hollywood glamour, and the new still shots offer full color examples of how well Lohan filled Taylor's shoes.
One seems to draw inspiration from memorable photos from Taylor and Burton's first wedding:

I think Camilla Belle would have made a better liz. She has the right features and I think better acting. I don think Lindsey will do her justice. Better casting...I wish they wouldnt have just gave it to her to help her. They should give it to someone who will do well for the part. I think they thought lindsey would bring the attention. Not sure if its the right attention for the movie?
Lindsay looks so beautiful– and I can't wait to see her in this production. I love everything she's been in, and to all you haters I say YOU'RE IDIOTS. She's brilliant and she is mesmerizing. What she has is priceless and so rare– She has that treasured commodity, "It", and she's got it in spades. All you boring no-talents just shut the hell up. You don't want to watch her movies? Fine, nobody's making you. Get off her back, you haven't any clue as to what her life is actually like or for that matter what she is actually like. Hey, did you ever hear what happened with that? All I ever saw was the initial article saying that the trailer was trashed, and that she was the last to use it. That the studio was being a$$es about it and had called in their own people to investigate, rather than letting actual police and insurance investigators handle it.
If she stays outta trouble, stops partying, and works hard, I think Lindsey can pull it off. She's been down a rough road.....her and Liz Taylor prob have alot more in common that we realize. I hope for her this works out for her. But she needs to be around the right people.
Everyone thought Robert Downey JR was washed up after his prison stint and nobody thought Drew was going anywhere after her nights of hard partying (Little Girl Lost). Its all up to her.

I was a fan of La Liz. She was a great beauty and a great actress. But the fact was that she was quite the bad girl in her day, in the news all the time for her exploits as a man-stealer and overindulgances in partying, heavy drinking and overeating, which all took a toll on her looks. Yes, she outgrew all that but not until she got older and Burton, the love of her life, was out of her life. They brought out the best – and the worst – in each other. Taylor had more in common with Lohan than many of us seem to remember. And Lohan, who I confess I'm out of patience with, looks surprisingly like Liz in these photos. So I will see this movie probably and I hope for the sake of Liz's memory, that it's accurate and captures Liz's very human side as well as the beauty and goodness we remember her for.
I get that they've made her look very much like Liz, but the different, for me, is the same as the difference between Lohan and Marilyn Monroe. There's no inner glow. Watch newsreel clips of Liz and Marilyn and you see that they had an inner glow that made it impossible not to look at them. I just don't see that here. It's like the wax museum versions.
DJ, you're right. It's the difference between being an actress, even a good actress, and being a star. There are a lot of gifted actors on the scene but star quality is a rarity. Lohan has some talent for acting but she is not a star.
I sincerely hope she does well with this role and it heads her off to bigger and better things.

Grace, Liz Taylor was definitely a star admired by many for her looks, but she was hardly a "lady" ... at least not in her stardom days. I find it hilarious how people like you can mentally rewrite history to fulfill some misguided need for hero worship, but it happens all the time so don't feel too badly.
Taylor is one of the most dynamic, talented, beautiful women in history. It would impossible to match her, even with a phenomenal actress today. Obivously, Ms. Lohan doesn't even come close to this stratosphere.
this was a hard role for LL ... she has no clue of liz's life other then reading, meeting with her, playing liz as an older woman must of been difficult a 25 yr old playing a woman in her40's and 50's is very difficult.

She is an amazing actress and the pics look awesome. Drew Barrymore had her rebellious/drug phase when she was young but she came out of it. Robert Downey Jr, look at the comeback he made. If Lohan stays clean and out of trouble, and the film is well scripted and well directed, she could end up with an Oscar nomination and restart her career successfully.

Sissy Spacek looked nothing like Loretta Lynn (Coal Miner's Daughter), Diana Ross looked nothing like Billie Holiday (Lady Sings The Blues), but both actresses pulled off an extraordinary performance of their lives as an actress. The question is not about what Lindsey looks like...it's about her performance as an actress portraying Elizabeth Taylor.
Wow, so many scathing remarks. I wonder how many of the people that made those comments here are perfect themselves. I hope Lindsay's performance proves them all wrong, she is certainly capable of doing that. Liz herself was no angel, she was always in the gossip columns with her very colorful life, but back then that type of behavior from movie stars was exciting to hear about And as for Lindsay, I am 62 years old and I am not about to judge someone based on bad press and bad behavior, i am not perfect either I hope she can use this role to start over.
She looks/acts/sounds nothing like Elizabeth Taylor, and doesn't have the acting chops to pull off the role. She did a bang up job in "Mean Girls" but that was a light comedy. Comedy is hard but it's not at all like drama. I've never understood why people think she has such "potential." If she has "such potential" than so does Tara Reid! She also has been cute and funny in comedies.
I have to say that she looks good when she's made up and not strung out. That doesn't really make any difference for this since she looks nothing like Elizabeth Taylor and she's still a terrible actress.

Ok.. not many people on here like Lindsay..As has been stated its a TV movie and Lindsay will probably the first of many to play this character. Lets reserve our options and comments when we can compare. Time will tell. Liz Taylor was a classic timeless star. Lets see over the years who can hold a candle to her. Also I don't see any suggestions of whom else they would have chosen. Anyway lets wait and see and not jump the gun. BTW I do think Lindsay is very photogenic.. not up on her acting ability.

They've colored her like Liz, but that doesn't make her into Liz. She's still got that cheap, tacky look about her. And I don't recall Liz having the broad shoulders and boy hips.
Liz had drug problems mainly because she had a bad back and other ailments not really a druggie. Alcohol became a problem. She was not the classiest but she was much more beautiful and refined acting. You can not compare her to the pantyless tarts of today.
Liz had chiseled features even when overweight. Lindsay is blowsy in her twenties with botox. Travesty.

Lohen is dressed up as Liz, and the side shot of her in the supposed to be Richard Burtons arms is quite good. Nobody could come off looking like Liz. Lohens lips are too full in one shot, unlike Liz. Lifetime movie will be interesting, if you can just stop comparing both Liz and Richard to the players, nobody else would be any better trying to emulate them anyway. Liz did not take other womens husbands from them, they dropped their wives and ran after her.
I do not care for Lindsay but thats not what we were asked to comment on..... in the the photos are quite good and do bear a decent resemblance to Liz.. and filling her shoes ( and dress)...(and face) ( and eyes).. is no easy feat.

We tend to remember Liz Taylor as elegant and classy. However in her day she caused her share of drama and trouble. Granted she did not steal anything, well other than other women's husbands, but she has a drunken drug addict at times too, and by her own admission. It was only in her later years that she calmed down and focused on charities and other commendable acts such as being one of the first voices to aids victims. I loved Liz Taylor and just maybe Lindsay still has a chance... with her nutty parents its no wonder she is messed up. Even Liz stated she had a soft spot for Lindsay a year or so before her death. I'm withholding opion on her casting till I see the movie.

LiLo looks real good. She can handle the part just fine. All the tribulation puts her in the same line of suffering as Liz. She probably channeled that and the director captured it.

However, I think the studio is taking advantage of her notoriety. Some of the trouble making could be fake.
Even though I am not fussy one the person play Liz ( that would be a very hard role to do) but in the photo's you looks good as Liz-- is she can pull this off reasonably well- then good for her. If she screws it up, bad news for her. Liz fans will be very tough critics. As for Liz rolling over in her grave, I dont think so. She had her own demons to fight, and would under stand -Liz will roll over, if it is not done well, or disrespectful. If she can pull this one of, then maybe people have to be too quick to right her off ( and that is very hard for me to say, as she just bothers me, with all the favouritism she has got from the courts- but if they think she can do, lets see what she is made off. I am sure, with their demons that they have both battled, one has a great insight to the other-I will go see the movie, because I love Liz and want to see her memory honored.
Just what is functional and is it better than most of us? The guy flipping burgers who stays drunk most of the time he just isn't a star and not on the news everyday. Or perhaps your children, they could be getting high on the school us and buying from the driver. Functional is a overrated word hell most of us are functional in some way, we just don't get a million dollars for it She doesn't have any class. she gets caught and that is her real sin to the masses. We love to think we would have better sense but that is a myth, look at where some of the lotto winners end up and the only talent they need is spend money.

Lindsay Lohan playing Elizabeth Taylor feels almost as insulting as having Paris Hilton playing Grace Kelly. There have to be far more talented and dignified actresses to play her. I realize she lost it a bit as she got older, but she deserves a dignified portrayal.

she looks amazing..name of male actor now. very hurt if its the wrong actor i truly wanted.
Not gonna lie, hair and makeup did a pretty awesome job here. But I have a feeling the resemblence will end once we see her in motion instead of a few still photos.
I agree, they did do a good job on her. She should keep that look & hair color...a diff hair style, tho.
