Ryan Gosling to make directorial debutAs much as we all love to see Ryan Gosling in front of the camera, we're also excited to see what the actor can do behind-the-scenes. Gosling's set to make his directorial debut with a movie called "How to Catch a Monster," which he also wrote.
The film, described by The Hollywood Reporter as a fantasy noir, will star "Mad Men" actress (and Gosling's "Drive" co-star) Christina Hendricks. The 37-year-old actress will portray a single mother of two named Billy who finds herself entering into a gruesome underworld after her teen son uncovers the way to an underwater town. The concept, THR explains, is that of a "modern fairy tale set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city," combining fantasy noir with suspense. Gosling, 31, will produce "How to Catch A Monster" along with Marc Platt and Adam Siegel of Marc Platt Productions, and Michel Litvak and David Lancaster of Bold Films. Principal photography on the film is expected to begin in the spring. Said Gosling, "I look forward to making this film with all of them."
