Sam Claflin cast as Finnick in 'Catching Fire'After plenty of speculation, Lionsgate has made Sam Claflin's casting in the upcoming "Hunger Games" film, "Catching Fire," official. The "Snow White and the Huntsman" actor will portray the striking District 4 tribute Finnick Odair in the 2013 sequel to this year's blockbuster film.
Described as "charismatic and clever," Finnick is one of the victorious tributes sent back into the Games along with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). "Catching Fire" is adapted from the second book in Suzanne Collins' dystopian trilogy, and the plot centers around Katniss and Peeta embarking on a Victor's Tour before being sent to compete in the Games once again as part of its 75th anniversary. Other tributes cast thus far include Meta Golding as District 2 tribute Enobaria; Alan Ritchson as District 1's Gloss; Jena Malone as District 7's Johanna; and Amanda Plummer as District 3's Wiress. Philip Seymour Hoffman is also on board as head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee. Directed by Francis Lawrence, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" will arrive in theaters on November 22, 2013. |

Are you serious?????????? This guy is NOTHING like the character Finnick described in the book. I was really looking forward to seeing "Catching Fire", but they have made some serious mis-castings in this movie so far. This guy better act his socks off in this part, or this movie is gonna crash and burn (ha – no pun intended but it works!).

not even close to who should play finnick, thought finnick was handsome this guy is mediocre at best. Come on casting director get it right.
Having read the entire Hunger Games trilogy, I pictured Kevin Sorbo in his younger days for the part of Finnick Odair, but of course he's too old now.

Tony Shaloub as Beetee? Now I gotta re-read catching fire. I guess I didn't have Monk in the brain when I read that then.
Tony Shaloub as Bee Tee has the physical presence I imagined when reading the book. I never could stand the series "Monk" and watched it only once, so I have no preconceptions.
i saw him a couple of wks ago in ny having breakfast in a rest, he's is still very handsome.
