Fans react positively to Rihanna's honesty

During Rihanna’s emotional interview with Oprah, which aired on Sunday night, she spoke openly about her relationship with Chris Brown.

She said Brown, who pled guilty to assaulting her in 2009, will always have a special place in her heart. And it seems some fans are pleased with the Barbadian singer’s honesty.

“I actually like Rihanna now after seeing her interview with @Oprah!” one person tweeted.

Another fan wrote, “Rihanna the most honest person in the music industry. More people need to learn from her, she's very out spoken. Love is the most important.”

Meanwhile, more than one Twitter user posted this thought: “Rihanna still having feelings for Chris Brown is understandable... Do not act like you never had feelings for someone who did you wrong.”

Rihanna’s famous fans also had something to say, with Tia Mowry writing, “Thanks @Oprah for the sound bite! Amazing interview and I loved how real, open and genuine @rihanna was.”

What did you think of Rihanna on “Oprah’s Next Chapter”?

Who in this world has never made a huge mistake? People change with love and love alone. It is an opinion as to whether loving yourself more than you love another person is the road to happiness, but my own opinion is that if you can go through Hell and high water, tornadoes and volcanoes with someone, break up and both grow stronger, and then still you both love each other, that is worth holding onto and working for. If something is worth having, often we have to go through a lot of struggle to aquire it and to make it firm. And by the way, to those people who are here scorning this woman for her courage to forgive and love from the heart, you will never know real inner fulfillment

I knew the incident would make them the "poster children" of abuse and it's really sad. I've been in an abusive relationship with an alcohol-addicted psycho who to this day (over 20 years later) has gone on to become nothing more than a sad case of humanity. I have also spent 20+ years with a man who is the polar opposite. After surpassing middle age, what I can see in this situation is that trying to compare their situation with the "house on the corner" is like comparing apples and broccoli. Unlike the 'silent' abuse that occurs among the thousands of household across America, their celebrity keeps them under a microscope for all to see. CB will never be the drunk average Joe with low self esteem who needs to keep his dependent other down to boost his own ego, nor will Ree Ree, no matter how the public wants to see her be the co-dependent victim who needs him to validate her every move. Very few of the silent abusers have their behavior put in check the way CB did. He was a teenager who was dead wrong and thrashed in the strongest kind of way. To say that he can never change is the equivalent of saying no teenager can ever grow up and out of childish behaviors. It's not like he was a serial abuser with years of experience under his belt. I'm proud that Ree Ree can be honest and even more than she can make her own decisions, right or wrong. For the rest of those who choose to live vicariously through the two of them, they need to spend more time keep themselves afloat. If they really want to help, do something locally to help an abuse victim that has no celebrity. By the way, a very close friend of mine had a fight with her boyfriend as a teenager. She started it, and she lost, but the lesson they both learned was deep-set and permanent. They have been married for 20+ years and he has NEVER put his hands on her again.

It's an abomination when people ignorant of love in a relationship try to spread words of wisdom. It's a crying shame when the lost souls then take those words as gospel.

Such idoits.....and the racist comments, really? Rhianna looked beautiful during the interview. Everybody has an opinion on weather she should go back or let it be. That is exactly what they are, "opinions". Maybe you all should concentrate on your own lives and the losers you entertain. An while you're at it take some of your own questionable advise. This decision should be hers alone not the opinionated ass public!!! #getyourlife!!!!

Her honesty came off as 'immaturity" and ppl aplaude her for it, i get it, her some million fans on twitter are kids, pervs, wife beaters, phys-cos, insecure and attentions seekers. so YEAH of course they like her interview.
Listen, the only way she is gonna find 'TRUE LOVE' is by loving herself more than loving the person that beat the shiat outta ya back in 2009. Dont support woman beaters, forgive them, move on and live your life an a healthy style. Enough with your "look at me, im half naked/insecure tweetpics " we get it, u need attention. but u know what else?
we wish you could grow outta this bull-shiat you call 'life' because it aint working for ya, u are on your way of becoming the next whitney H. whom happened to have a beater named BROWN too.
go figure. get well first, keep it low key and live a healthy life. oh n stop acting like a moron "yo yo what what" when you are on cameras, its freakin annoying.

Her honesty came off as immaturity? She was being honest. Leave it at that. No one is idolizing abuse. Unless you've been there, you have no idea what happened or what a person feels. So now people should stop being honest about how they feel?

i didn't see the interview but have read about it. i wasn't surprised by what i read. that kind of young love is so passionate and intense and filled with so much hope. it's really hard to get over. i was actually relieved to read about her true feelings because they mirror mine. my abusive ex-boyfriend died almost three years ago, but recently i came across photos of him on the internet that were very disturbing – he had severe scoliosis. and strangely enough, i felt angry at the person who posted the photos only to expose his misery. so i can understand Rihanna feeling the way she feels about CB. but i really hope she stays away from him because he will never change.

Why are people praising her honesty? She is a sad case. CB beat the crap out of her and she "still loves" him; she "lost her best friend"...If he was really a "best friend" he would not have put his hands on her. CB must have also battered her self-esteem. It is low. CB is bad news. Hopefully she will get over him and stay away from him. CB was her "first love." Rihanna- you will have many more. She is an abused woman who sympathizes with her abuser. She needs some type of therapy. She has to realize that what he showed her is not "love." Oprah is a vulture, feigning concern. All she cares about is her OWN network and ratings.

I appreciate Rihanna's honesty. It's very difficult to get over "First Love". She knows what he did was wrong and although she has forgiven him, she is not with him. l think she is deeply in love with Chris Brown and I hope she never act on those feelings again. He appears to have violence and anger issues:

Sadly she is clearly in pain still. Still very much in love & still carrying a torch for Chris. She needs to think things through more seriously, in other words, she needs to mature & grow up. Chris is trouble. The fame is going to get to him; he's got anger issues, he is too volcanic. Rihanna will be best to move on and get over him. She'll not find happiness with Chris – that I'm sure.

Do you mature and grow up out of your feelings? Feelings are what they are. It's easy when you are on the outside looking in to make comments about how someone else "should" feel.

Her fans are obviously very young. I watched the interview and I found her to present immaturely, constantly moving in her seat and not articulating herself well. Yeah she was honest but honest didn't show maturity. Then Oprah kept either agreeing with her or making her think what she was saying was so 'powerful'. I felt so sad for her. She has no one around her telling her to stop and be still so God can talk to her and reveal her real self. My wish for Rihanna is that she gets out her own way so she can grow and be elevated to the point where Chris Brown is no longer a factor in her life only then will she find true love. She will see he is not the love of her life, he was a chapter in her life that is complete and she is moving on to other aspirations in her life. True love waits but patience is required.

Thanks for making sense. After the interview, my daughter asked me what I think. I told her she is Whitney Houston in training. She may not be taking hard drugs; but she is taking something. There is a clear contrast between Rihanna's interview Diane Sawyer and her interview with Oprah. She is thin and seem discombulated. Oprah was a punk just like she was in the Kim Katrashian interview. She needs to grow a spine and stop worrying about ratings.

Please spare us your version of maturity. Because someone fidgets or moves about in their seat, they are immature. I can't imagine anyone doing the "right" thing in your book of rules.

Maybe she is feeling a little guilty. Maybe she started the whole incident. He was wrong to hit her. The story is she was always smacking him in the face and hitting him. Maybe this time she hit him and it hurt. When people get physically hurt they will lash out. she admits that she was sooo mad and upset that she saw a text from another woman. first love and extreme jealousy for both of them. she has kept mum on her part. I know women who have hit and abused men and when karma turned on them they were the biggest victims. Keep your hands to yourself.

There are always to sides to a story and then somewhere inbetween is the truth. Stop judging and stop accusing. Fact is, he hit her. Fact is, we don't know and will never know the whole story. Move on and leave these two people to God. They both have a lot of growing up to do. If you are without sin, you can cast the first stone, otherwise stay out of it and Pray that none of your relatives or yourself has to go through something like this!!!
