Update: Mayim Bialick assured fans via Twitter on Thursday that she's doing well, and has already returned to work on "The Big Bang Theory": "How much do I get love and support from the big [sic] band cast and crew? I went to work today ... doing ok. Grateful. And tired."
She followed up on Friday, writing, "Nerve block: good. Nerve block wearing off: not good. Natural childbirth: manageable and profound. This: meh."
Actress Mayim Bialik seems to be in good spirits after being involved in a car accident on Wednesday.
“In pain but will keep all my fingers. If u wanna See pre accident me watch The Soup tonight lol,” she tweeted, noting that her husband had to the type the message for her.
Bialik, who currently appears on “The Big Bang Theory” as Amy Farrah Fowler, was rushed to the hospital after the white Volvo she was driving collided with another vehicle on Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, according to a statement Los Angeles Police Lt. Andrew Neiman gave the Los Angeles Times.
The former “Blossom” star suffered “severe lacerations to her right hand and thumb,” Neiman added.
TMZ was the first to report the news on Wednesday, noting that the other vehicle was "filled with tourists from Chile."
Reps for the actress told CNN, “[S]he is doing fine and will be returning to work tomorrow. She thanks everyone for their concern.”
According to reports, the mother of two was the only person in the car at the time of the accident. Bialik, who holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience, spoke to CNN about attachment parenting back in May when Time magazine's breastfeeding cover hit newsstands.
