While you were working ...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • According to Robert Rodriguez, Lady Gaga "kicked so much a**" in her acting debut on the set of his upcoming sequel to "Machete," "Machete Kills." Check out the poster art at the link. [E!/Robert Rodriguez's Twitter]
  • Switch gears to sad stuff, everyone: Usher's step-son Kile Glover was laid to rest in Atlanta Friday. [MTV]
  • Dane Cook probably lost fans today as news spread that the comedian decided to use last week's movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado as a punchline. While doing stand-up at the Laugh Factory on July 26, Cook said that Christopher Nolan's final Batman movie was so bad, the rampage was prompted because someone said "shoot me." [L.A. Times]
  • Before competing in this summer's Olympic Games, U.S. swimmers, divers from Great Britain, and the U.S women's soccer team are in a lip-synching competition - complete with video! - at the link. [EW]
  • In the last straggling bits of "Stew-Scandal," as we're calling the Kristen Stewart-Rupert Sanders-Robert-Pattinson clusterfudge, it's been rumored that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson aren't speaking to each other. If true, we're guessing they won't be able to keep that up forever, since they have a little movie called "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" coming  out this year. [People]
