Today's news you might've missed:
Forthcoming NBC comedy "The New Normal" hasn't aired yet but it's already lost favor with one set of viewers. The group One Million Moms is boycotting the Ryan Murphy-created show on the grounds of it being "harmful to our society."
Actors Andrew Rannells and Justin Bartha ("The Hangover") star in the upcoming show as a gay couple searching for a surrogate to carry their baby.
A freelance paparazzo who was involved in a high-speed chase of Justin Bieber on a Southern California freeway on July 6 has been hit with four criminal charges by the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office.
According to a statement from the City Attorney's Office issued on Wednesday, the pap in question is freelancer Paul Raef. He has been charged with following a vehicle too closely and driving recklessly with the purpose of getting potentially profitable photos; failing to follow the orders of a peace officer; and another separate count of reckless driving.
There was plenty of doubt that it could be done, but Oscar-winning director Ang Lee has adapted Yann Martel's best-seller "Life of Pi" to film, and on Wednesday, 20th Century Fox offered a first look.
The challenge for Lee, as Slate points out, was to tell a story that centers on a shipwrecked boy who's stuck on his vessel with a zebra, hyena, orangutan and, most memorably, a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker.
Wednesday's scheduled release of "Batman Incorporated" No. 3 has been postponed to August 22, according to DC Comics' website.
TMZ reports that comic book store owners received an e-mail saying, "Out of respect for the victims and families in Aurora, Colorado DC Entertainment has made the decision to postpone the release of BATMAN INCORPORATED No. 3 for one month because the comic contains content that may be perceived as insensitive in light of recent events."
"American Idol" might not be the only talent competition with a judge exodus.
NBC's "America's Got Talent" may be in danger of losing Sharon Osbourne, according to a cryptic tweet she posted to her account ahead of Tuesday's show.
