McCain to guest star on 'Parks and Rec'It looks like Capitol Hill is ready for its collective cameo, as some real-life politicians will soon go in front of the camera for the NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation." Former presidential candidate and Arizona Sen. John McCain will join Sen. Barbara Boxer and Sen. Olympia Snowe as guest stars on the show when the regular crew heads to Washington, D.C., during season 5.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the bipartisan episode - titled "Ms. Knope Goes to Washington" - is expected to debut on September 27, and will center around Amy Poehler's Leslie Knope visiting D.C. to see her boyfriend Ben Wyatt, played by Adam Scott. It's then that the couple will roll to a political mixer attended by the senators. McCain tweeted a photo of himself on set with Poehler on July 19 along with the caption, "Had a great time shooting @ParksandRecNBC today w/ Amy Poehler – I think it's an Emmy!" "Parks and Recreation" is back on the air Thursday, September 20.
