[Heads up: This post contains spoilers for the premiere episode of "Covert Affairs." If you'd rather not know, stop reading now!]
"Covert Affairs'" wasted no time at all on Tuesday night's premiere as Annie was summoned on an otherwise uneventful Fourth of July to meet secretly with Jai.
After Jai hinted at secrets he'd learned about the CIA, he went to start his car. When Annie went back to retrieve her sister's umbrella, she looked up in horror to witness Jai's car explode.
Arthur moved quickly to investigate who killed Jai, and Auggie was tasked with delving into the mystery as Jai's replacement.
Meanwhile, Annie was unceremoniously reassigned and questioned with a polygraph. Her new boss, Lena, is quite a departure from Joan as sort of a rebel to the CIA's methods who asks Annie to trust her instincts.
But the question is, have Annie's instincts taken her too far? She seemed to be getting very close to her target as the episode ended, and we know he's no good.
Will Annie and Auggie ever work together again? (Count on it.) And who killed Jai? I imagine that will be a mystery for the rest of the season.
All I know is I'm happy to have my "Covert Affairs" back. How about you? Post a video or comment below.
Why did they kill Jai off? Did he get another gig on another show like Fred from Drop Dead Diva did on Mad Men?
Modern Germans are Kind people.
The Germans were evil during World War2.
some people have had an emotional situation happened to them, so what happens is screwing may go on the backburner and work becomes sole priority. some people can move forward quick, some cannot.
Some people need to heal..reconnect with themselves again - once this happens..you can mend and start screwing again. i basically said this to my former professor at school a few years ago, he laughed and said well said dear. LOL
sometimes it takes awhile for 2 people o screw..you know what mean folks?
if this is the "annie and augie" i'm thinking of in town...its season 5 of as the world turns-they are right for each other... now if we could just get the 2 morons to understand it....the town could finally live in peace. lol
I wish Annie and Augie would screw already its been coming since the first season .
My son was a first season writer for Covert Affairs. For all the series he has written for, this was by far at the top of his list. Whereever they go with this, it's fine with me.
And who killed the German spies and why?
On the whole, the episode seemed a little flat, but there was so much going on that it didn't really have time to build. The new boss seems like she's got a separate agenda and look forward to see how the changes play out. I hope that they don't decide to get rid of any more characters.
