Kelsey Grammer has a new co-star: rapper T.I. takes on a recurring role in Starz's critically acclaimed series "Boss" in August.
Grammer stars in his Golden Globe-winning role of Tom Kane, the mayor of Chicago who concealed the fact that he had a serious illness in the first season. In the second season, Kane continues to try to manage his debilitating illness as he rebuilds his inner circle.
T.I. will portray a former gang member angling to work in city hall, and who also ends up taking Rotimi Akinosho's character Darius Morrison under his wing. CNN's Marquee Blog has a first look at the new season behind-the-scenes:
This season will also take a look at "the interior lives of each female character," says Kathleen Robertson, who plays former mayoral employee Kitty O'Neil. "We sort of start to understand and see why it's gotten to this point."
"Boss" returns August 17 on Starz at 9 p.m. ET.
