'Wonder Years' actress Danica McKellar files for divorceActress Danica McKellar and her husband Mike Verta are going their separate ways. The 37-year old, known for playing the lovable girl-next-door Winnie Cooper in the popular late '80s dramedy “The Wonder Years," told CNN that she's divorcing her husband after three years of marriage. The actress-turned-author said in a statement Wednesday, "I am saddened by the end of my marriage to Mike."
McKellar, who has written three books on math, including “Math Doesn’t Suck” and “Kiss My Math," reportedly cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for her split from her composer husband. She added in a statement that the two are "committed to raising our son together and we are focused on remaining the best parents we can be." McKellar, who has also appeared in “The Big Bang Theory” and “How I Met Your Mother," has reportedly sought joint custody of their one-year-old son Draco.

I bought her first math book for my daughter and it helped a lot. Gettng my daughter to read it took some time, but once she started reading it ... she loved it and really helped her excel in math. Highly recommended.

That photo they have of her... she's beautiful, but she looks sad, and that smile looks really forced. With a hand or sheet of paper, cover her mouth and look at her eyes... you'll see what I mean. Was this photo from when she filed for divorce, and someone snapped a picture of her, and she just tried to smile for the camera out of habit? On the flip side, she named her son, (or allowed him to be named) Draco, so I don't know... cool that she's a pretty lady, and into math, that seems relatively rare.
When it comes to math, most Hollywood types can only seem to divide a pair of legs... their own or someone else's... which is very rudimentary arithmetic. So rudimentary that it's practically biology, really.

lmao.. but that aside, this is the first time I've seen how she looks all grown up! I grew up watching that show.. started watching it again on netflix starting with the pilot about a month ago. Really brings back memories.. especially the intro song. Hope the best for her.

Poor Danica... crawled up from the B list to share her sad news with the world. Join the rest of us who got a divorce this year... at least we aren't crying to the tabloids hoping to sell more books. Maybe I'll start a support group for all the unfortunate children of stars that have been saddled with ridiculously stupid names, clearly with parents like those they will need all the help they can get. But who can fault them... only the San Andreas (fingers crossed)

She has a doctorate is mathematics so she should be addressed as Dr. McKellar.
I believe she has a Master's. Lincoln Chayes speaks very highly of her talent, and I think she could easily have gotten the doctorate if she'd wanted to go that way, but I don't believe she did.

I believe that her marriage started breaking down when she decided to go back into acting after being away for 20 years. It caused the marriage to have a whole new dynamic that her husband didn't want. He married a math genius, not an actress.
