Sorkin on Jobs film: Like writing about the Beatles

Aaron Sorkin is preparing for the June 24 debut of his new HBO series, "The Newsroom," but he also has another huge project on his plate: the Steve Jobs movie he's been tasked with writing and directing.

"I'm at the earliest possible stage with Steve Jobs," the TV and film vet said at the D: All Things Digital conference Wednesday, adding that he had to think about signing up for the gig.

"To be honest with you, one of the hesitations I had in taking on the movie was that it was a little bit like writing about the Beatles," he added. "There are so many people out there who know so much about him and who revere him that I just saw a minefield of disappointment, frankly. ... That's bound to happen."

Christian Bale on the one time he dated Drew Barrymore

“Dark Knight Rises” star Christian Bale hasn’t forgotten about a disastrous date he once had with another Hollywood A-lister.

The actor told GQ Australia that he once took a now-engaged Drew Barrymore out on a date, but when it was over she went M.I.A.

“We went to see some bloody awful horror film, and that was the end of it,” he recalled of the movie they caught as teens. “She never called again.”

Overheard: Adam Levine's promiscuous because he loves women so much

It sounds like newly single Adam Levine is ready to play the field.

In the new issue of Details, "The Voice" judge/mentor says that he's always understood women, and even has a theory on why he's rumored to get around so much (the magazine notes that he's been reportedly partnered with Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Maria Sharapova, and Kirsten Dunst).

You see, according to Levine, there are two kinds of men:

"There are men who are f*****g misogynist pigs, and then there are men who just really love women, who think they're the most amazing people in the world. And that's me. Maybe the reason I was promiscuous, and wanted to sleep with a lot of them, is that I love them so much."

According to the article, Levine loves a lot of things, including attention.

"I can't stand not having it," he said. "It just has to be the right kind."

Tyler Perry defends Bobbi Kristina: Leave her alone

Although reports have suggested the contrary, Bobbi Kristina didn't walk off the set of Tyler Perry's "For Better or Worse" because she's grieving the recent death of her mother, Whitney Houston.

The 19-year-old has simply completed her duties, a source close to Tyler Perry tells CNN.

The prolific filmmaker also said as much on his website, explaining that "there is no way [Bobbi Kristina] could have walked off the set because we have finished taping for the season."
