You know her as the perky anchor of HLN’s "Morning Express," but Robin Meade also has a musical side.
Meade spent her childhood singing in her father’s church, and as she told CNN in a recent interview, "I thought that everybody could sing."
While she's currently a journalist with music as a side career, as a high school senior she had no idea what path to pursue.
“I remember telling my mom that I was filling out a form to enter the county junior miss program my senior year,” Meade recalled, “and I wrote down my goal was to be a renowned broadcast news anchor and follow in the footsteps of Diane Sawyer because I knew she had been America’s junior miss. My mom was like, ‘Oh, honey, why don’t we write down something a little more realistic?’”
Watch her interview above to find out who unwittingly put her on the path to become a broadcaster, and what’s been her most difficult story to cover.
A big thanks to Robin Meade, and to all of our iReporters for submitting questions!
