NBC ups the comedy for next seasonAfter plenty of speculation surrounding the fate of its beloved Thursday comedies, including "30 Rock," "Community" and "The Office," NBC calmed fans' fears on Sunday while revealing its comedy-filled fall schedule. All of the aforementioned Thursday staples, as well as "Parks and Recreation," are returning, in addition to "Whitney"; "Parenthood"; "Up All Night"; "Law & Order: SVU"; "Celebrity Apprentice"; "Fashion Star"; "The Biggest Loser"; "Betty White's Off Their Rockers"; "Smash"; and "Grimm." And while it's been reported that "30 Rock" is headed for a final, 13-episode season when it returns, NBC Entertainment's Robert Greenblatt said none of its Thursday comedies are definitively ending next season.
In addition to its renewed shows, NBC is adding a total of 16 newbies, including six new scripted shows for the fall and another six slated for mid-season. On the reality series side of things, NBC is bringing on a new game show called "Howie Mandel's White Elephant"; Eva Longoria's dating show "Ready for Love"; a reality show called "Stars Earn Stripes" that will feature nine celebrities who will hit a training camp to attempt to accomplish military-style challenges; and "Surprise with Jenny McCarthy," an hour-long show of heart-warming surprises, such as reunions or announcements. Here's the full fall schedule (times are eastern), with new shows in bold. Monday 8-10 p.m. – “The Voice”
Tuesday 8-9 p.m. – “The Voice” 9-9:30 p.m. – "Go On," a comedy starring "Friends" alum Matthew Perry as a radio sportscaster whose boss won't let him back on the air until he seeks therapy after the loss of his wife.
9:30-10 p.m. – "The New Normal," a comedy from Ryan Murphy which follows a gay California couple who find the surrogate mom of their dreams in a Midwestern waitress with a questionable past.
10-11 p.m. – “Parenthood” Wednesday 8-8:30 p.m. – “Animal Practice,” a comedy set in a New York veterinary practice starring Justin Kirk as Dr. George Coleman, who works far better with his animal patients than with the humans he encounters.
8:30-9 p.m. – “Guys with Kids," a comedy executive produced by late night host Jimmy Fallon that follows three 30-something dads who are trying to balance holding on to their youth and being parents.
9-10 p.m. – “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” 10-11 p.m. – “Chicago Fire," a scripted drama from Dick Wolf that follows the rescue squad, firefighters and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51.
Thursday 8-8:30 p.m. – “30 Rock” 8:30-9 p.m. – “Up All Night” 9-9:30 p.m. – “The Office” 9:30-10 p.m. – “Parks and Recreation” 10-11 p.m. – “Rock Center with Brian Williams” Friday 8-8:30 p.m. – “Whitney” 8:30-9 p.m. – “Community” 9-10 p.m. – “Grimm” 10-11 p.m. – “Dateline NBC” Saturday Encore programming Sunday (Fall 2012) 7- 8:15 p.m. - "Football Night in America" 8:15-11:30 p.m. - "NBC Sunday Night Football" Sunday (Post-football/Winter 2013) 7-8 p.m. – “Dateline NBC” 8-9 p.m. – “Fashion Star” 9-10 p.m. – “The Celebrity Apprentice” 10-11 p.m. – “Do No Harm," a scripted drama about a physician who has a dangerous side to him that he's no longer able to repress.
Joining "Do No Harm" in the midseason will be the comedies "1600 Penn," which follows the everyday antics of a fictional First Family; "Save Me," starring Anne Heche as a suburbanite who develops a direct line to God after a near-death experience; and "Next Caller," starring Dane Cook as a tart-tongued satellite radio DJ forced to co-host a show with a passionate and spunky feminist.

Oh it's a bunch of shows about white people!. Yep, all white people doing white stuff. Sorry, I had to share.
Based on the article, I think I can come up with a script. It might take fifteen minutes and a trip to the crapper.
There isn't one show on this list that looks even remotely interesting. NBC sucks and this line up only further proves that fact...keeping "Whitney" on? Seriously? and I love the fact that they have added the obligatory + show. "Chicago Fire"? My 9 year old nephew could probably form a better line up.
*obligatory "Big City Name" + "Dangerous Occupation" show
Way to ruin my Thursday night NBC. No way Up all night is better than Community.
I love The Office, but enough all ready. Time to close the branch.

Who keeps giving that Jenny McCarthy bint exposure? She's a horrible person that is literally responsible for children dying, any rational society would have cast her out a decade ago.
"Stars" completing military-style training? Didn't they already do this, over and over again? Looks like just more yawn-worthy TV for less since they don't have to pay somebody to come up with any ideas, etc. Boring.
NBC isn't "upping" anything except the stupidity meter, from what I can see. Most of these shows are pretty pointless. I love the older episodes of The Office, but since 2009, it has also declined in quality. Too bad. I guess the Springsteen song '57 Channels and Nothin' On' is true.
In a self- response, just saw on NBC's website where "Biggest Loser" will be "Returning Soon"? Maybe a mid season replacement?
Too bad about "Harry's Law". Us old folk don't buy what the commercials are pitching I guess. The second paragraph says "Biggest Loser" will return but I don't see it on NBC's weekly schedule. Anyone see something I may have missed?
All of these new comedy series look awful. They truly have the feel of a show that will last for 3 episodes before being cancelled.
Revolution could be good but it has the look of a Hunger Games rip off with a heroine that shoots a bow and arrow. Even the leather jacket is the same.
The problem is that NBC puts out this trash and doesn't give their good shows a chance. Awake is an amazing show and they're pulling it for this filth. Unbelievable!
I agree! Harry's Law is one of the most clever shows on TV! Guess if you want the 18-49 group, don't put it in a Friday night slot – this group is out either with friends or family.............what a shame. Hopefully, another station will pick up this wonderful series. Just how dumb and dumber!

Saw that Revolution trailer, what utter stupidity. Hello dumba$ses its called solar panels and wind turbines.. And what's with the girl running around with a bow , more lack of imagination and having to rip off hunger games. So let's guess, they'll jerk us off for 6 seasons chasing some secret until the writers run out of ideas like Lost. Yay. JJ Abrams will apparently pt his name on anything these days, its annualized now, one new show gets it every seeason they just pay a licensing fee to use his name.
At least Gus from breaking bad is in it, this thing would be a total writeoff, melodrama for the sake of melodrama mess.
I agree with most of what you have to say. However, solar panels and wind turbines generate electricity. The shutting down of all electronic devices would have to do with the ability of electricity itself to not function, therefore wind and solar generation of it would not work...
but yes another dumb show.

You could say that about network TV in general. I want to drop cable and what the networks put out is garbage. What's a person to do.
Comedy? Oh THAT stuff. I forgot how 2 laugh. Am I supposed to make some noise too? What will I do w/o all that tragic news? And how will I spend time w/o Bill O'Reilly telling me what to do. OMG. A country w/o Rush? Oh maybe it will be fun to smile and not frown. I'll see if I can learn to laugh. But I don't know. I'm so used to the awful news.
Why are "Whitney" and "Community" back? Both stink beyond measure.
"Revolution" looks good, with an interesting premise. The rest is garbage. I remember a time when NBC actually had "must see tv"...Now it it "must miss at all costs"...

While a solid, timely, well written, well acted drama – HARRY'S LAW – gets cancelled.
