Graceland exhibits show Elvis through daughter's eyes

Elvis Presley's legacy remains larger than life, but his daughter Lisa Marie is offering a glimpse at the man she knew him to be.

As revealed in a new set of exhibits at Graceland, even his wallet offers a view of his off-stage life as it contains a photo of his daughter, a bank card and an insurance card.

“Even the King of Rock ‘n Roll had insurance,” says Kevin Kern, Graceland’s communication director.

Kern appeared on CNN’s “Starting Point” Monday to show off a few choice items from the three new Presley exhibits at Graceland: "Icon: The Influence of Elvis Presley," "Elvis on Tour" and "Elvis...Through His Daughter's Eyes." They opened ahead of the 35th anniversary of  Elvis’ death on August 16, 1977.

Among the items on display are a huge gold belt Elvis wore in a photo with President Nixon; solid gold, custom-made sunglasses; and 200 baby items belonging to Lisa Marie.

And, get this: One of the exhibits has a tie-in to none other than Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake. Click on the above video to find out why.

People who talk crap about the king really dont know squat. Also...why do some people think its easy being a celebrity and losing all privcy you once had? It make sense to have some crutch to cope with it..Im not excusing it but dont disrespect Elvis period!

Chuck Berry is good but Robert Johnson a blues artist who died from being poisined in 1938(?) used a lot of techniques in his music that are still used by some rock artists today.

Wow! How nasty can people be! Elvis is dead but he still has family out there who love him very much. How about showing a little respect. Micheal too! How would you like people to be saying such vile and disrespectful things about a loved one of yours who has passed away! I was unforunate enough to lose my father at my wedding. On monday the DJ to my reception called into the radio station and the and the jokes flew! I was very upset! IT is not funny being on the recieving end of something like that!
If you never stood in that mans shoes or saw things threw his eyes....and stood and watch with helpless hands while the heart inside you dies.....help your brother along the way no matter where you start....FOR THE SAME GOD THAT MADE YOU....MADE HIM TOO....these men with broken hearts......

This girl is still milking her father. Funny when other famous families do it, society have a problem with it.

No they don't. And what is wrong with an only daughter profiting from her father's effort. It's certainly what Elvis would have wanted as proved in his will. You're just envious that you're dad isn't rich.

As mentioned above, Elvis always gave credit to black musicians. Evidently you don't know much about the man. To those making fun of the way he passed, it doesn't matter. He left a legacy of music and wealth to his daughter and grandchildren and their great grandchildren. What about you?

YOu know some folks makes fun of every famous person when they die. Yes, it is wrong but Elvis is not going to be treated no different. LOOK how WHitney died and all the rude comments that were made about her. Welcome to the internet.

Wow what haters out there to say something like that about anyone!!! Even in his interviews Elvis was the first to say his music came from black people, he even called Fats Domino the true King of Rock and Roll, he gave credit where credit was due just ask The Sweet Inspirations. Remember we all have our problems and even towards the end of his life his voice never failed him just listen to his gospel songs. Thanks you Elvis and Whitney for such beautiful voices.

Elvis was just another white boy who stole music from a proud black man..Elvis was also a drug addict who died while trying to take a crap for hours. He looked all bloated and fat and totally lost his voice. Plus he ate crappy food. He also had the worlds smallest penis...

The REAL KIng of rock n Roll was LITTLE RICHARD. But hey, as many things back then, people give to a white person and take from a black person.

Hey genius most of those songs you think elvis "stoled" from black artists were written by two white guys and several people recorded them in the 50s and 60s. Check out a musical called smokey joes cafe its all songs written by the previously mentioned writing team. Thats how they made money they wrote songs and sold them to as many people as they could.
