Chang unleashed on 'Community'

Farewell, Starburns. You will be missed.

The memorial service for one of the most beloved Greendale students on Thursday night's episode of "Community" coincided with the resignation of Professor Kane, meaning the study group will have to retake Biology over the summer. (Dean Pelton, of course, had to choose the right costume – a dress – with which to deliver this news, and the brief glimpse of his closet may have been the highlight of this episode.)

Needless to say, the group didn't take this very well, and Jeff chose the occasion of Starburns' memorial to go on a rant against the school and the dean. When Annie took the podium, she only ratcheted things up even further: "Greendale has warped me like a Barbie in a microwave!"

When Pierce then called for "this mother" to be "burned down," a riot ensued, and Dean Pelton did what he thought he had to do: he gave emergency powers to Chang and his kid security team (Annie and Shirley commented on the "little riot gear, awwww").

As one might imagine, this did not end well, and Chang's secret plan was finally taking shape. The Pelton lookalike we saw a few weeks ago was made the dean's replacement as the real dean was taken out of commission, and it wasn't long before "Pierce Hawthorne and the Greendale Six" were all expelled.

As the group pondered their fate, Troy bemoaned the fact that he "was gonna be the first person in my family to graduate from community college. Everyone else graduated from normal college."

Abed wondered if they were in the darkest timeline, but then decided that the fact they were all together made this the "perfect timeline."

I really liked this episode, and it made me laugh out loud the most in recent weeks. I definitely can't wait to see how the gang can find their way back into Greendale.
