Ice Cube talks N.W.A. biopic, next 'Friday' film

We've heard that Ice Cube was working on another installment of his hit comedy “Friday," and it looks like it's inching closer to becoming a reality.

The rapper-turned-actor told MTV he’s putting the finishing touches on the screenplay for the third follow-up to the 1995 original, which he starred in opposite comedian Chris Tucker.

"I'm almost finished with the script, so as soon as we can finish the script, fast motion on it," he said.

And that long-talked about biopic about N.W.A. is also “full steam ahead,” with director and frequent collaborator F. Gary Gray at the helm.

"We're excited about him being part of the project,” Cube said of his friend. “The script is getting tighter and tighter, and once the script is tight as sweaty butt cheeks, we'll put it out, and we'll start working on it.

Movies aren’t the only projects on Ice Cube’s tray: he’s also been helping to develop a TV drama for FX called “Eye for an Eye,” where he’ll play an ambulance driver with a vendetta.

And then, of course, there's what he became famous for: the music. The MC said he's teaming up with fellow rappers OMG and Doughboy on his next album.

"I think I'm gonna call it 'Everything's Corrupt,'" he said. "It's just really hardcore West Coast hip-hop — what I do. I don't think changing the formula is what should be done. I think it's all about do what you do best and give the people what they want."
