Our summer calendar is booked with must-see films, and we can think of no better way to start May than with a new trailer for one of them: "The Dark Knight Rises."
Warner Bros. released the third trailer for the last installment of Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" series on Monday night, one that fans are also anticipating will be screened ahead of "The Avengers" when it opens this weekend.
In contrast with the previous "Dark Knight Rises" trailer, there's no talk of "peace time" in this clip.
The story picks up eight years following 2008's "The Dark Knight," and we get a glimpse of just how sadistic Tom Hardy's masked Bane can be as he wreaks havoc on Gotham.
Batman appears to be MIA, and Joseph Gordon Levitt's character John Blake doesn't know if he's dead or alive, and if the latter, if he'll return. "Hope is lost," indeed.
But while the "adaptable" Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) tells Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale), "You don't owe these people anymore; you've given them everything," he disagrees.
"Not everything," he tells her. "Not yet."
What's your take on the trailer? Have you already tried to get a ticket to the show? "The Dark Knight Rises" opens July 20.
It is apparent that awesome treatment and detail was positioned near to the design to create anything pleasing to the eye and touch. The headphones can be found with two cables, a standard just one for the iPod, MP3, compact disc jointly with other audio tracks equipment jointly with a Monster iSoniTalk cable, which consists of a made in microphone and response key that is compatible jointly with your iPhone, Blackberry jointly with other music-enabled phone.
I fell in love with Tom Hardy when he played Heathcliff in Wuthoring Heights....he was just as dynamic as Lawrence Oliver in the role, and far more passionate. He is the new Marlon Brando, and Hollywood should take notice of the best actor around. Please don't waste his talents on anymore romantic comedies (which is the scurge, the ultimate dumping ground for anyone who truely loves movies)!!.
tom hardy has the prettiest mouth in the world, man or woman. kiss me!
Tom Hardy is also a rapper. Check this out! I'm amazed by this guy.
After seeing the Avengers I can honestly say its an extremely fun movie but it is hard to take the story seriously when the heroes are joking around during the final battle its like they find the battle way to easy. You really do not feel that NY or the WORLD is in danger. Loki is a great bad guy in the movie but even the heroes dont take him seriously and the movie doesnt really show him as a challenge or threatening at all what so ever. Now with the DKR rises trailer you see Gotham is really in trouble but Nolan doesnt show you the full story like the avengers trailer did. Batman has to deal with someone stronger and possibly smarter than him and the Batman looks really beat up. He doesn't joke around during a fight and is willing to actually fight in the day time which he rarely does to help the ppl of Gotham. Bane appears to be more of a threat than Loki and Gotham is in more danger than NY in the DKR. From the comments and opinions I have read in other forums Batman could actually die in this one and the trailer sends out that message as well which makes me want to go see the movie even more. Nolan has done a great job and knowing Tahlia Al Ghul is coming out in this movie proves that Batman Begins is linked to this movie than the Dak Knight. Any thoughts?
I think I can't wait to see both movies.
Magnificent points altogether, you simply received a brand new reader. What might you suggest about your post that you just made a few days ago? Any certain?
My brother suggested I might like this website. He was once entirely right. This submit truly made my day. You cann't imagine simply how much time I had spent for this info! Thanks!
tom hardy was amazing in warriors. who is this tom hardy guy. i thought the second one was really dark. good, but dark.
Tom Hardy is a sensational actor. Check out "Bronson", "Inception" "Warrior" and BBCs "Wuthering Heights" "The Virgin Queen" and above all the Brit series "The Take"..he plays a seething piece of very violent trash..and yet he brings a bit of humor to it..and the character is always sweet with children.., "Stuart a life Backwards" where he plays a physically impaired addict is brilliant. He's also done a lot of stage stuff. Google him. He's been working for quite awhile. His interviews are also brilliant. He can play anything. And he's in Lawless with Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce this summer..it looks good. He also is active in soial programs for wayward youths, supports work with troubled kids..
Anne Hathaway killed my excitement for this movie.
I like the Keaton suit better. This one's only good for spelunking.
This one is practical; the other the actors could barely move and could not turn their heads. How realistic is wearing a costume that you can't move in? I mean superheroes are ridiculous enough (no way they would exist in the real world) without having to encase them in ridiculous and impractical garb. That said, this one looks way better than any of the previous ones since the Keaton days - no longer does the costume look like a wetsuit with a cape.
B O N E R
The Avengers is going to crush this!!
Only for those 12 years old or under.....the adults will go see this one
Theres no depth to the avengers. The dark knight series is different than other superhero films. It is actually DARK
Its not the conclusion to the trilogy it's just a conclusion to the Dark Knight Saga...First movie wasn't part of the Dark Knight it was just plain Batman Begins....But it really does look like a fantastic movie. Can't wait to see it.
No – its the end. Chris Nolan said he is done with Bataman and pretty much said he'll make sure no one else tries to piggyback on this series.
No, this is the end of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. There will not be another film in this storyline after Dark Knight Rises.
There will be a reboot of sorts after this Batman trilogy, similar to the ill-conceived reboot of Amazing Spider-Man coming later this summer.
I do believe this is a trilogy after all, and this is the coclusion too. Dark Knight Rises supposedly ties in the story-arc more directly with Batman Begins in that it touches up on many issues and themes more directly that started in Batman Begins more-so than the Dark Knight.
wrong-batman begins was the first movie in Nolan's trilogy and rises is the last...
Chris Nolan has stated in no uncertain terms that this is the conclusion to the "trilogy," but not to worry - Warner Brothers will come back with a new incarnation with a new actor and a new director in a few years. Batman is a cash cow, and this biz is all about making money.
personally even though I haven't seen the 2nd one yet it looks boring I like the first one better. because it he the joker in it and it has more action. I like the first one better!!
You haven't seen the second one yet?! WHAT?! Go and see it right now. Now. GO. Heath Ledger was fantastic in it. Too bad he's dead; that's lame.
The first one was Batman Begins.. Not the dark knight, the one with Heath ledger. And this movie looks amazing.
The Joker was in the second Chris Nolan Batman movie...
@antonio – you need to catch up on these. The one with Joker is the 2nd movie in this set. This will be the 3rd. The first two are both great, I'm sure this will be fantastic also.
The 2nd one has the Joker in it. The first one had Ra's Al Ghul and the Scarecrow.
The second has been out for, what, four years and you still haven't seen it? Yet you're here commenting about the third one? You must be really, really bored Rachel.
I blew Batman.
The sad part is you have nothing better to do than to post this.
I wupped Batman's a$$.
If Tom Hardy is anywhere near as good as he was in Bronson, which I'm sure he will be as he's invarioably always good, then his Bane will be epic.
Going to see this movie will be bittersweet. I really can't wait to see it; I think it's going to rock. But, I am reminded that this is our last Nolan/Bale Batman movie. I'm scared to see who picks up the torch next and I just can't imagine anyone matching this pairing.
Bittersweet? You're bitter about it just because this is the last Batman movie from Nolan? You might want to look up "bittersweet" because I'm guessing you, like so many who use it, don't know what it means.
The evil guy isn't all bad, he attacks Wall Street and that is good!!!
Anybody seen this? Is this really coming out?
I like the part where Palpatine gets the Triforce.
Not real. Obviously a fake. Scenes from Serenity and Stargate are in it. Don't waste your time.
Heh; fun,. but no. This is a fan film with numerous obviously composited (from the actual films) shots.
Tom's right not sure if it will be worth it
are you retarded?
Bruce Wayne "Why don't you just kill me?" Bane "You've been punching musketeers." I'm kidding.
The only problem I have with the Bane voice at this point is that it seems to have been purposely volume adjusted to make people saying "I can't understand him, blah blah blah" happy. It's now louder than the rest of the cast. I sincerely hope they muffle it back down for the theatrical release. How do you expect a man with a mask implanted on his face to sound? Between this and the Lawless trailer coming out this week, it sure seems Tom Hardy will be then "next big thing." Can't wait to see what he does with Mad Max: Fury Road.
Its looking good that the Knightfall story hook will be used. I hope they keep true to the comics one more time.
Joe, they don't have time in a single movie to run through the whole storyline. That's a ridiculous request.
@ Judge Dredd
I see what you did there. Hilarious.
Looks good to me! The first two in the trilogy were very well done, and this one looks to be cut from the same cloth...I'M IN, BATMAN!
I find it funny that, no matter where you go on the Internet, there is fighting. It could be the happiest damn story in the world (or an awesome one like this) and people will still fight.
Please, get a life and quit trying to find something to complain about.
Christopher Nolan appears to still be walking ON the water.
Seriously, everything Bane said was completely clear. Maybe someone needs their hearing checked.
Valid point. Actually this trailer is with Bane's "re-done" voice. Originally you couldn't understand him at all. They had to re-edit the film so he could sound like he is in this trailer.
Early clips showed somewhat unintelligible dialogue from bane, but people didn't seem to understand that was not the finished product. They've fixed it now.
Since they call it the "conclusion" to the batman movies in this trailer, i wonder if they'll actually have bane cripple batman like in the comics? Would be sad, but a fitting end if they wanted to move on to nightwing or an adapted "batman beyond" movie.
It's the conclusion to this Trilogy with Nolan and Christian Bale. There will be other re-boots. They will never do a big-budget movie on a fringe character like Nightwing.
anne hathaway bad choice for catwoman. She will stink up the whole movie!
Sounds like you can't even understand the English vocabulary very well. Bane is quite audible in the trailer. That being said, it's a part of his character. If Christopher Nolan catered to every hipster who wanted all of their villains to be perfect cookie cutter clones of Joel Schumacker's disastrous past, we'd never have gotten any film beyond 'Begins.
Biff, if you're going to criticize other people's ability to "... understand the English vocabulary..." you should first learn the basics of the English language yourself.
"My mother warned me about getting into cars with strange men."
"This isn't a car."
Hollywood is extremely good at making great trailers. Great movies, not so much – but the trailers consistently rock, even for bad movies.
Disagree. Lot of decent movies are spoilt by their trailers. This trailer is good in the sense that it builds anticipation without giving much away.
Hit the nail on the head: "there has never been a bad trailer." There should be an Oscar for Best Trailer.
Trailers & teasers are two minutes long; movies are closer to two HOURS long - of course they're easier to make good.
Trailer looks really good ! Can't wait for July 20th !
At least there's something from DC that's good to see (and Young Justice).
i agree with T. ... trailer is excellent
I hope the new Batman movie is good.
There are so few good movies these days.
Why can't they make good and creative movies, like those of the 30's and 40's and those of the 50's by Alfred H.?
I I prefer evolution, but I'm sure someone 70 years from now will say the same thing.
Because it's 2012, Barry. Move on with the times.
Bull. There are plenty of terrific movies out there, but not many of you who watch the popcorn "event" movies go see them. Try something that isn't based on a comic book, graphic novel, amusement park ride, or has a $100,000,000-plus budget with at least one mega-movie star.
Yeah, the first thing Bain said sounded something like "I'm Gotham's rectal ring." Whatever that means. But it was pretty clear what he said after that.
It looks good.
I believe he said "reckoning"
Of course someone with a username like yours would think that, but here's an idea - open up a book and read a little, so the next time you hear a word foreign to your limited vocabulary, you'll recognize it right away. To most of us here, "reckoning" was clear as day.
Will happily endure Christian Bale's funny sounding Batman voice one more time so as to see this amazing film. CAN'T. HARDLY. WAIT.
That's funny, I understood everything Bain said in the trailer.
Nothing like nuclear ignoramuses to write a script about "mutants".....
I still can't understand a word Bain says.
With a several hundred million dollar budget and the best sound equipment, etc., that money can buy, is it really that hard to make a movie where you can actually understand the main villian?
his voice is clearly dubbed over and not that hard to understand...it's also Bane btw, hard for me to take your opinion seriously.
Cause his voice is like so underground you know hence why you never heard it.
Sorry I offended you by mispelling a comic book character's name. I don't really get how that makes you question my opinion regarding my ability to hear a mumbling voice.
It's hard for me to take your opinion seriously as well, considering that you can't even write properly.
@hipster- Maybe you two should join forces and open a school for kids who can't read or write good.
