"Bridesmaids" was one of the most talked about movies of 2011, and we're betting it's going to get more shine this summer. (If only so we can play the drinking game!)
MTV has announced the nominees for this year's MTV Movie Awards, and, like best movie lists before it, "Bridesmaids" is among the nominees for "Movie of the Year."
That category also happens to be a three-way fandom smackdown between "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," "The Hunger Games" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1." (The fifth film up for the award is "The Help.")
In addition to the more traditional best male and best female performances, the MTV Movie Awards also includes light-hearted categories like "Best Kiss," "Best Fight" and "Best On-Screen Dirtbag."
(That latter category, if you're curious, nominates Jon Hamm in "Bridesmaids"; Bryce Dallas Howard in "The Help"; Jennifer Aniston in "Horrible Bosses"; Colin Farrell in "Horrible Bosses"; and Oliver Cooper in "Project X" for the honor.)
Fan voting opened Tuesday morning in anticipation of the June 3 ceremony. Check out a partial list of nominees below, and visit MTV for the full rundown.

I'm surprised at no Twilight. Maybe there's a chance for the MTV awards to get back up a bit?
Pffhahaha, who am I kidding?
What an awful assembly of movies. Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and The VOW?!?!?! Harry Potter and Hunger Game ok, decent movies but by no means should ever be nominated for best movie and THE VOW!?!? Was quite possibly one of the worst movies of the year.
you are aware these are the MTV movie awards right? These aren't the oscars or even the fans choice, it is MTV the channel that brings you Snooki and pregnant high school students. I can't see how you except it to bring you high quality movies at its movie award show. The Vow= 16 year old female audience. The award show has a "best on screen dirt bag " category. Personally i think they should change the best male performance nominee for Tatum from the Vow to 21 Jump street, he was surprisingly good in a funny role
All nailworthy, except the chunker at left. I know, I know, she's beautiful on the inside... Whatever.
Box office flop with alot of profanity and vomit, but other than that a typical chick-flick. That this movie predominates the MTV nominations reflects poorly upon this organization. What are the evaluation criteria, anyway?
