There were a few relationship changes in Tuesday's "New Girl."
As Nick put it, Schmidt and CeCe almost made a baby together, while Jess is dating the man he can see himself growing old with.
After acknowledging the fact that he’s had a tough year, Nick concluded that the logical thing to do was to plant tomatoes. Because, obviously. But since this is Nick, he of course became obsessive and weird with it.
He yelled at the birds in the sky to leave his tomatoes alone; poured water in his mouth and then spit it on the plants; made a scarecrow; and then yelled at Winston, “I want you to get…I want you to get off my farm!”
(Winston said precisely what I would have: “Look at yourself! You look like one of the guys that crawls out of the grave in the 'Thriller' video!”)
I question Nick's sanity more and more every week. He’s funny though, so it’s OK that he’s crazy.
CeCe decided to end things with Schmidt because things were too intense. So Schmidt went out with CeCe’s strange roommate, who wanted to have a "sex party."
But that "sex party" ended with Schmidt in the hospital. As always, Schmidt happens.
CeCe was angry with him for sleeping with her roommate, and just like a guy, he didn’t get why. CeCe finally admitted to Schmidt that she likes him, which was so cute!
“You like me? You like my personality?” he asked her. CeCe's response: “I was surprised too.”
Jess ended up at dinner with Russell and his ex-wife, who were taking a trip down memory lane with their arguing. But at the end of the argument they had this weird moment of sexual tension.
When Jess bumped into Russell’s ex-wife at the gym a few days later, the ex-wife basically had an orgasm while talking about how much she hates him. Jess was able to see the passion they have for one another, and realized she wants that passion.
Jess tried to pick a fight with Russell to spark a passionate fire between them. It was pretty awkward. She got all in his face, yanked on his shirt, threw coasters at him and hurt his teeth by kissing him extra hard. Naturally, Russell was confused.
“Passion’s overrated Jess," he told her.
But Jess wanted the same fire Russell has with his ex-wife, so when he told her he doesn’t want that kind of relationship, Jess ended it.
Winston, meanwhile, was giving Nick relationship advice. Everything had been on the up-and-up with Shelby since he made a few changes, and Nick realized he wants the same things Winston has.
Jess came home from breaking up with Russell and discovered Nick had gotten back with Caroline, the girl who had him heartbroken when the show started.
They then start arguing like crazy people, and naturally their fight ended with them shaking their butts at each other and yelling. (According to Twitter, that fight was the "make-milk-squirt-out-your-nose" moment of the episode, and I must admit it was cute.) Nick and Jess clearly have the passion Jess is looking for.
Of course, my favorite part of the episode was when CeCe finally admitted to Schmidt that she likes him! I’m excited to see how their storyline is going to play out now. And now that Jess is single, I’m curious about what will happen with her relationship status.
