Neil Diamond weds manager in weekend weddingLegendary singer Neil Diamond is a married man once again. And the "Cherry, Cherry" balladeer found love close to home: Diamond’s new wife is his manager, 42-year-old Katie McNeil, his rep confirmed to CNN. The newlyweds tied the knot Saturday in L.A. during a private ceremony attended by close friends and family.
The 71-year-old singer told his fans via Twitter on Sunday, "Katie and I got married last night, we wish you all could've been there. It was magical!" It’s the third marriage for Diamond but the first for McNeil. They announced their impending nuptials via Twitter this past September. "Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you're the first I want to tell/ Katie & I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well," Diamond wrote at the time. He also tweeted that he was "lovestruck" by his new fiancee. The pair met three years ago when McNeil produced Diamond's documentary, "Neil Diamond: Hot August Night/NYC." This year looks to also hold a hot summer for the "Sweet Caroline" singer, as he's set to kick off a U.S. tour on June 1.
