It looks like Vince Vaughn will be behind the camera as well as in front of it for his next round of projects.
According to Deadline, the “Couples Retreat” actor will reportedly star in a big-screen adaptation of the hugely popular 1970s TV series “The Rockford Files." He's also expected to produce the movie under his Universal-based Wild West Picture Show Productions company.
The sites says that Universal Pictures has cast Vaughn in the role made famous by James Garner, who played an L.A.-based ex-con-turned-private investigator.
To say the 42-year-old has got a lot going on would be an understatement, as he's also expected to produce a new TV drama series about the world of global private security operatives.
“This compelling yet secretive world we are exploring is one that most audiences don’t even know exists, and we’re excited to share its rich and heroic stories,” he said about the unnamed, upcoming show in a statement.
Vaughn also has a new comedy, “The Internship,” on the way with "Wedding Crashers" buddy Owen Wilson, as well as the movie “Neighborhood Watch” with Ben Stiller and Jonah Hill, which arrives in theaters this July.
