Axl Rose apologizes to Cleveland after Hall of Fame snubThe band Guns N' Roses was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame over the weekend despite Axl Rose's decision not to attend, and now the rocker has one more thing to say about the ceremony: He's sorry. Via his Twitter account, Rose has offered a mea culpa to the city of Cleveland, Ohio,which hosts the event. "I would like to apologize to Cleveland, Ohio, for not apologizing to them beforehand for not attending [the ceremony] in their city," he wrote, referring to his initial letter to the Hall.
The tweet provides a link to a lengthy letter in which Rose describes his surprise and gratitude at the positive feedback and support he's received since he announced he was declining the Hall of Fame's induction. He adds that he's sorry for not offering Cleveland an apology earlier, as he does enjoy performing there, and "Cleveland does in fact Rock!"

What a clown! His apology doesn't even make sense. He was probably apologizing to the land and buildings that make up Cleveland. It certainly wasn't for the fans. He would have made everyone wait until he was in the mood anyway. I wish we could experience the sane Axl who takes his meds for his mental disorder(s). He should have thought about that before he did his last minute bailout on the ceremony. Either be a man and respectfully decline early on or accept the consequences of your actions. He obviously realizes the stupidity of the way he handled it, providing more evidence that he was and has always been the problem, not Slash, Duff, Izzy, Steve, and Matt. As a Clevelander, I feel it was his right to not show, but it's also my right not to spend another dollar on anything he produces or any concert he shows up late to.
He's only sorry as an after thought....like....wow....I probably offended people who might by MY new music....then I will loss money on sales. Too little too late.

Why is he apologizing to people in Cleveland? They don't have special privileges to attend the closed event. Its not like tickets are on sale to anybody and its Cleveland area people going in general.
The RARHOF is a joke anyway. The idea of a HOF is fine but this this place just uses a secretive club of elitists choosing their personal preferences on who is "inducted". Its not like they are an actual authority on anything. Rock and roll and fame certainly aren't actual criteria judging by those who have been selected.

The Rock and Roll "Hall of Fame" is a marketing gimmick that should be taken about as seriously as the "world wrestling federation hall of fame".
Deep Purple, Rush and hell, even John Mellancamp aren't in it, but Neil Diamond is. That should give you an idea of what their idea of "Rock and Roll" is. Also, since they feel like inducting an obligatory Hip Hop act every year, Public Enemy should have been inducted before the Beastie Boys.
I take back my comment about Mellancamp not being inducted - apparently he was a couple of years ago - but that leaves several dozen ROCK bands that haven't been inducted into the hall of fame while high profile POP acts like Madonna and Neil Diamond are.
