Amanda Bynes' dad on arrest: She wasn't drinkingAmanda Bynes' father is coming to her defense following her alleged fender-bender with a cop car last week in Los Angeles. Police arrested Amanda following the incident on suspicion of driving under the influence, but her father Rick Bynes tells People magazine that the 26-year-old actress hadn't been drinking. "She was not drunk," he says. "I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn't have a single drink that night...My daughter doesn't drink."
Rick Bynes goes on to say that he believes the police officer who arrested his daughter was the one at fault, claiming the officer was the one who pulled out in front of her as she was turning at the West Hollywood intersection where she received her citation. The report from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says that the black-and-white cop car was preparing to turn right at about 3 a.m. at the intersection in question "when a black BMW driven by... Bynes attempted to pass to the right ... colliding with the right rear quarter panel." Instead of intoxication, Rick says his daughter was just “upset and very emotional” in the wake of the stop. "She is a good girl,” he adds. “She just chooses not to work, and because of that, people go after her." Amanda was held at the West Hollywood Sheriff's station, and later released. She's expected to appear in court to address the citation of investigation for DUI once a date is set, People magazine reports.

Dr. Bynes is admirable for sticking up for his daughter. However, he was not there so how can he really assume that the cop was at fault. If she was trying to pass on the RIGHT, than she for sure was at fault. As for the "she chooses not to work, and because of that people go after her," seriously?? I think not. NOW, he's reaching – really reaching. Her job status had nothing to do with this.
My black boyfriend is always going on how nice it would be to have Amanda swallow his load. Is this Amanda chick even into BBC? My BF is 63 yrs old and loves white meat. We met years ago back at the Greyhound Station in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Hahaha, even tho my daughter is rich, insane, annoying, pays all of MY bills FOR me, with her enormous salary.....even tho she never even talks to me, even tho i dont even live with her....I just "know" my daughter is innocent of any crime the police arrested her for. I dont even need a law degree, or any proof, I just "know" she is innocent.....not bc I am her father, but bc I have magical salem witch powers, that allow me to know who is drunk, and who is not without even seeing the crime scene. Oh wait.....that doesnt exist? I meant to say I "know" she wasnt drinking bc ALL celebutants CLEARLY have it SOOOO together, that they would NEVER do anything like that. My daughter is clearly not at fault for the police arresting her for both driving under the influence, and being stupid enough to slam into a police car at 3 am. The cop was making a right turn, and she tried to pass him on the right? Either she is the worst driver in the world, or she was on something. If that's not it, then the cop did something, and is covering his butt. I'm sure they did an alcohol/ drug test, which will show the truth.

You can't make an assumption like that...there have been many times that I was hanging out with friends at their apartment until that hour of the morning and no drinks were involved. Besides, she is a 26 year old grown woman, who says she can't be out at 3 am?

I know the Bynes family and if her father is speaking up for her like he is, chances are there are some questions to answered by the policeperson in question. I have always found Dr. and Mrs Bynes to be truthful. kind, and down to earth people. I wish Amanda luck as she tackles this situation facing her.

This stinks of Los Angeles Sheriff's Department gone bad again. They are a terrible police force and I can easily see them covering up for a lone officer at fault by them arresting a celebrity. It's too bad West Hollywood doesn't have it's own police force. It would be a much better place.
