Ahead of the curve: Weekly pop culture calendar

Up this week, Matt Bomer will guest star on "Glee" as Blaine Anderson's big brother/Hollywood actor, Cooper Anderson. Good looks clearly run in the Anderson family!

Here's what else you shouldn't miss this week:

Sunday

  • Catch the season 10 finale of "CSI: Miami," where Horatio has to investigate one of his own CSIs for murder. Watch this episode at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.

Monday

  • In a new episode of "How I Met Your Mother," imaginations run wild when Ted, Barney and Marshall imagine what their lives will be like in three years. Watch this episode at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
  • Brennan returns to work after having her baby in "Bones." Watch this episode at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
  • Anthony Bourdain returns for an eighth season of "No Reservations" on the Travel Channel tonight at 9 p.m. ET.

Tuesday

  • Basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will guest star on "New Girl" as himself. Catch this episode at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
  • Catch the season finale of "Body of Proof," where the evidence in a homicide case points to a serial killer that Megan helped convict. The finale airs at 10:01 p.m. on ABC.
  • Books coming out this week are: "Calico Joe" by John Grisham; "A Natural Woman" by Carole King; "The Social Conquest of Earth" by Edward O. Wilson; "Come Home" by Lisa Scottoline; and "Ninety Days: A Memoir of Recovery" by Bill Clegg.
  • Movies and TV series coming out on Blu-ray and DVD are: "The Iron Lady," "The Darkest Hour" and the anime "Infinite Stratos."
  • Music coming out this week includes "Slipstream" by Bonnie Raitt; "Underwater Sunshine" by Counting Crows; and "New Life" by Monica.

Wednesday

  • It's election day on "Modern Family." Claire's race for town council comes to a close and the Dunphys make one last effort to get her elected by contributing to the campaign. Watch this episode at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
  • Then, catch the pilot of "Don't Trust the B**** in Apartment 23," where June moves in with Chloe, played by Krysten Ritter, in New York City. June soon finds out that Chloe has "the morals of a pirate." Watch the premiere at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
  • Don't miss the season finale of "Psych" at 10 p.m. ET on USA, where Shawn and Gus reopen a murder investigation.

Thursday

  • Catch all-new episodes of "Community," "The Office" and "Up All Night" starting at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Friday

  • Head to the movie theater to catch the following flicks:"The Cabin in the Woods," with Chris Hemsworth, Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Kristen Connolly and Anna Hutchinson; "The Three Stooges," with Sofia Vergara and Jane Lynch; and "Lockout," with Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace.

Saturday

  • Josh Brolin will host "Saturday Night Live" with musical guest Gotye, at 11:29 p.m. ET on NBC.
