'Modern Family' stars seeking higher pay?A report suggests that the cast of “Modern Family” wants a raise - a gigantic one. And, the actors may be in a very good position to get paid: it’s contract renegotiation time, and the Emmy Award-winning sitcom is one of the highest-watched series on TV. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the six adult cast members (minus Ed O’Neill, who reportedly earns more) currently make around $65,000 per episode.
But sources told the publication that reps for Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara will ask for around $200,000 per episode heading into season 4. The show’s patriarch Ed O’Neill reportedly makes close to $105,000 per episode, and it’s not clear whether he’ll demand more as well. ABC would probably be wise to give the stars what they want: “Modern Family” is said to attract 13.7 million regular viewers right now, up 12 percent from last year according to Nielsen. In 2011, it apparently generated $164 million in ad revenue for the network as well. What say you fans of the show? Do you believe it, and if so do they deserve more money? |

More Hollywood greed. They don't deserve that much pay, because the show isn't that great.
Pay them!!! Millions of viewers love them!
Pay them. An dget me a date with Julie Bowen. She has been hot from Happy Gilmore to Ed to this show. Amazing...
You've got to be kidding! These people are over paid as it is. The show is funny. Just think about it, Supreme Court Justices make about $200,000 a year! If they get a raise I will stop watching.
They should pay the actress that plays Haley a bonus for every episode she gets naked.
I wonder how much the kids get per episode?
Maybe if the more attractive ladies would agree to get nekked in each episode it would be ok . Otherwise, they should make less than the men.
Pay them. If the numbers in this article are correct, the total increase for an entire season of the whole main cast would be only 13% of the ad revenue. Yes, $64,000 per episode is a luxurious salary, especially in today's economy. But, I'd rather see thousands more go into the pockets of the people who make the show what it is (the cast), than millions go into the studio execs pockets – who already make millions from it anyways.
It may seem like too much, but the show is making money and the talent deserves their fair share of it as much as the network executives.
They deserve it it's a good show an only pennies compared to what the newtowrk is pulling in for the show $164million a year $200K an eppisode is pennies compared to that so instead of $164million profit the network pulls in $140million a year for just this show mined you, pay the people.
6 actors at $200,000 each, for 22 episodes, is $26,400,000 That's hardly pennies...lol
I'll do it for $2000 and episode..
I think they're asking little too much for a tv show, they (the leads) should be grateful to BE working. If they ask for more money, then it's likely the PTB (Powers that be) might decide to get rid of the show and put another series on where the actors will work for less. I would be so grateful to earn $64,000 an episode, that's more than enough to live on for anyone in the world.
Yes, they should make more money
Friends cast made 1 million per episode
Pay them .... the show's a winner, the cast make it that way. Sign them up and pay them what they are worth
Whatever these people earn, they are overpaid. This show is worthless.
