Guess we shouldn't expect any more naked PETA ads from Khloe Kardashian.
The reality star's love affair with the organization has soured now that it has offered its support to the woman who flour-bombed big sister Kim on the red carpet of her L.A. fragrance launch/Dress for Success event last Thursday.
TMZ reports that the woman is a longtime member of PETA who once was given an award by the group - although the organization has said it could not verify the woman’s identity. It has also denied any responsibility for the attack.
On Monday, the younger Kardashian blogged about her decision to distance herself from the animal rights group.
"I just received word that the woman responsible has very close ties to PETA, despite PETA publicly stating otherwise," she wrote. "Not only has PETA lied to the public, but they have proved that they support this kind of behavior."
"I’ve been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time but I have also been very vocal about anti-bullying, so this was a huge disappointment for me,” she added. “As you all know, I don’t condone violence and bullying and what happened last Thursday was just that."
Kim has not announced plans to press criminal charges against her attacker, but she's hinted that could come down the line.
For its part, PETA's taking the loss of their Kardashian support in stride.
"We appreciate that Khloe will remain on the animals' side by not wearing fur—that's what counts," the organization said to CNN in a statement. "If one of our volunteers is responsible, it doesn't alter the fact that no animal deserves to be electrocuted, shot, or poisoned for a bit of fur clothing. Khloe is just defending her sister, and we know she has a good heart, so we wish her well. We just wish she also had more influence on her sister."
