Russell Brand runs into trouble in New OrleansActor Russell Brand is a free man today after being jailed briefly in New Orleans. According to police, the British comedian was picked up by authorities Thursday at Harrah’s Casino after he reportedly snatched a photographer's phone and tossed it through a window earlier this week. TMZ says Brand grabbed the photographer's iPhone on Monday and threw it through the window of a downtown business - an incident the star seems to admit to on Twitter.
On Wednesday he wrote, "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently ... what I did was a tribute to his memory." Paparazzo Timothy Jackson reportedly filed a police report, claiming "criminal damages," but has apparently already gotten his phone back. TMZ also reported that Brand's reps have already paid $240 for the broken window. But the cops - who issued a warrant for Brand's arrest - say the actor has been charged with simple criminal damage to property. They also report that Brand posted $5000 bond and was quickly released from custody. “The Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star - who was recently granted a divorce from pop star Katy Perry - is in New Orleans filming an untitled movie produced by Mandate Pictures. Written by “Juno" scribe Diablo Cody, the film also reportedly stars Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer, "Dancing With the Stars" champ Julianne Hough, Nick Offerman and Holly Hunter. |

There are people that tell me that you have to respect other people's opinions. I say no. You have to ackowledge their opinions, but you should always reserve the right to call them out if it has no place in the environment or context.

My daughter and I met Russell last week in New Orleans at Cafe Du Monde and he was very nice and funny! He posed for pictures with several fans.
