'Ouija' movie moves toward 2013 releaseA concept that was once considered dead weight has been revived over at Universal Pictures: The studio is back at work on a movie centered around the Ouija board game, reports Deadline. The project reportedly had an original budget of more than $100 million, which is said to have been slashed down to $5 million. McG was attached to direct the high-budget version, but the lower-cost concept doesn't have a director yet. Michael Bay still serves as one of the producers, and Universal has tapped Jason Blum to produce the project as well. Blum, of Blumhouse Productions, is also behind the successful "Paranormal Activity" movies, which easily recoup their tight budgets at the box office. Plot details are light, but considering it's centered on the Ouija board, we can only guess that it would involve the supernatural.

@sky So true! There's actually a little indie Ouija movie called "I Am ZoZo" making the rounds right now about that very thing. It's about the demon ZoZo (Google it and you'll see what I mean.) It's a battle of the boards, go indie horror!

This should get in line behind "Real Steel", and "Battleship" and "Candyland" and "Transformers", etc. etc.
Ho hum... it's been done before. A few films have been done before that focus on the Ouija Board, and a lot more horror films used one at some point. I think most people have used one at some point, but the novelty is usually gone for anybody over 15.
i'm with Ben, sounds like a ridiculous concept without even hearing any plot ideas. Plus it will be full of B and C list actors no one has ever heard of...better go straight to DVD

Apparently there is no limit. LOL But you have to remember, they will keep dumbing down the movies, TV shows, whatever until the people buying tckets STOPS doing that. LOL Until then, read a book or something.
I hate the ouija board. Every time I axe it if I'm beautiful, it goes staight to no. I'm so sad.
