Lifetime picks up Bristol Palin docu-seriesWe're not sure why we need another opportunity to glimpse into the life of young single mom Bristol Palin, but Lifetime is giving it to us anyway. The network has picked up 10 half-hour episodes of "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp," which will focus on her "real-life experiences of growing into motherhood" as she raises her 3-year-old son, Tripp, a statement from Lifetime says. Last year, the BIO channel announced a project that was to see Bristol move into an L.A. abode with fellow former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Kyle Massey and his brother.
That show was to also document Bristol's hunt for a new job, but it's unclear what became of that reality show. Lifetime's series, meanwhile, will be all about Bristol, as the network explains that "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp" will "reveal how she adjusts to her life in Alaska, where daily she faces the many pressures of raising her toddler son Tripp alone and maintains the close relationship she holds with her parents." Over the course of the 10 episodes, "Bristol will be confronted by the many difficult life decisions people must make regarding parenthood, family, relationships and career – giving viewers a unique look at how these true-to-life challenges test her resolve as she single-handedly writes the next chapter in her and Tripp’s young life."

There is enough trash on television without adding the daughter of the current queen of flash and trash. From a family whose greatest aspiration is to become affluent celebrity fixtures, I predict this show will not make it through one season. It will be canceled when it is discovered that too few people are watching. What's to watch? A role model of a girl who was so naive and ignorant that she became pregnant in high school and allowed her mother to parade her before the world through a political campaign and play fiancée with her boyfriend in an attempt to placate voters that everything was really going to be "moral," since she would be a married mother. I guess you could credit her with fearlessness (or stupidity) to go on a national program to dance when she can’t dance. Then, to undergo plastic surgery for a new look because of a “medical necessity.” This is all so disgustingly low. I can only wonder what knucklehead at the Lifetime network came up with such a lame brained scheme. Hey, people, there are actually talented performers out there. There are even people who have talent and have studied singing, dancing, and acting. You know, all those skills that performers do when they have talent. Find some of those and put them on the air. That would be a welcome change. Send this silly little girl home, better to some school to maybe get even a thimbleful of education so she can be more useful in the world.

According to Republican State Senator Glenn Grothman of West Bend, WI, single parenthood is the equivalent of child abuse, and has introduced legislation in the Wisconsin State Senate to this effect. If this is true, then why are we glorifying the single-parenthood of this chick from Alaska, who forgot to keep the aspirin between her knees? Or is it because the "single parent = child abuser" only applies to non-Republicans?
This sounds like a typical Lifetime show. If they get 10 people to watch it, it's a success. This network intends to always be the third tier. Not sure who the audience will be. I don't see other single mothers who don't have wealthy parents and a daughter who's idea of looking for work is negotiating a fat contract, identifying with any of this.
I see all those people that are jelous of the palins are having their say. What a great example the Palins have been in showing us how to birth and keep a baby born out of wedlock instead of killing it in the womb. Most of you negative naysayers are just jealous you can't be as smart, goodlooking and famous like Sarah and her daughter. I love and respect them for being such a good example on how to keep a baby instead of killing it with abortion and also how to keep a baby in Sarah's and Todd's case, that most say is not normal, and raise it instead of killing it like an unwanted animal. Yet another reality show? Just what we need in a market already saturated with them. Starring overpaid, no talent characters flaunting their ignorance and glamorizing mistakes they've made in their lives. When I watch television, I want to be taken away from reality -even if only for 1/2 hour. Siblings fighting and showing disrespect to their parents? If I wanted to see that, I'd go to South Central L.A. (if I was brave enough and had a death wish, that is). Blood and gore? Nope, I'll watch the nightly news for that. Let's face it: everyone's life IS reality. If we are living our very own reality show, why watch reality shows on television? Unles, we are hoping to see people whose lives are more messed up than our own.
Alaska failed to educate this mama moose, the moose heifer and now her calf. We are already bored to tears with these GRITS from the sticks, and now yet another dose. I'd rather have chemotherapy and and heart surgery with a hatchet than to watch more of this WT mama-drama. How is it that we have sunk to this new low of mediocrity that we confuse it with entertainment? If her audience would read some great classic books, or even be able to write a coherent paragraph in proper English, that would advance their mentality by huge leaps and bounds. More importantly, you're not "ALONE" when you have extended family and/or friends who actually give a crap about you. But, it wouldn't be good TV if anyone tried to do a "reality" show about someone who in reality is alone. Regardless of what anyone thinks about Bristol Palin, the truth is for whatever reason she's been given opportunities to haul-in a hell of a lot more than minimum wage, at least she's not too stupid to pass up those opportunities. It takes money to live and raise a child, and all the money being thrown at her has given her the opportunity to raise her own child, instead of plopping him in a daycare center or in front of a TV in someone else's home, while she works for minimum wage.

Surely it's no surprise that a reality TV show about white unwed mother and her white baby moving in with single two black guys went nowhere and in fact wasn't aired at all. It's obvious the Biography Channel was very willing to potentially ruin lives to make a dollar off this unwed mother's sorry situation and I'm sure Bristol Palin and the Massey brothers received good paychecks for allowing this phony set-up to be filmed. Let us at least hope she's grown up since then and will say no to any ridiculous contrived situations thought up by TV executives.

Between MTV sensationalizing teen pregnancy along with situations like this, it's only a wonder why we find ourselves in an era where babies are having babies. The media has made it cool for teenagers to make their lives extremely difficult by having kids before they have a drivers license.

Make money off the media? Old Sarah left the governor's office just so she could make more money. It has always been her chief goal.
