Julia Roberts: What Meryl Streep's daughter taught meJulia Roberts, as one of Hollywood's most famous moms, has learned a thing or two from the offspring of one of the pros: Meryl Streep. Streep, 62, is mom to 25-year-old actress Grace Gummer, who was in last year's "Larry Crowne," and Roberts tells Vanity Fair in its April issue that Grace gave her a new perspective on what it means to have a parent in the limelight. "Grace comes up and goes, 'Gosh, it's so sweet seeing all your kids on the set. It reminds me of when I was little, and I would go see my mom work," Roberts, who's a mom of three, recalls to VF.
Realizing that Grace had inside intel that could be helpful, Roberts inquired as to how she realized her mother was an A-list star. "She said, 'I think I was probably nine when I put it all together...it was fine. There was no trauma.' So that was helpful," Roberts said. But it sounds like the 44-year-old has managed to shield her children from the reality of her profession. There was a time when Roberts was on a "crowded street" when passersby began to take notice. "Somebody said as we were walking past, 'Oh, that's Julia Roberts,'" she said. "We all just kind of kept going, and then Finn said, 'Yeah, my mom's Julia Robinson.' That's what gives you perspective. It could be Robinson, it could be Johnson, because it has nothing to do with me as a person."

I wish Julia Roberts would read my novel THE HIDDEN AGENDA. There would be a good part for her to play if it was made into a movie. The serio-comic novel has good movie potential.
