In comparison to Lady Gaga's egg arrival at last year's show, this year's Grammy Awards feel like they're going to be much more tame.
Whitney Houston's shocking death has created a modest tone for this year's Grammy Awards, but the show must go on - and it'll include a tribute to the legend, as well.
Jennifer Hudson is expected to perform, as well as Chris Brown, Rihanna, Foo Fighters, Katy Perry, and The Beach Boys. Have you tuned in to CBS? Stick around and watch the show with us.
11:27 p.m.: As Paul McCartney sings us out, a bit of a recap: Adele did a clean sweep, picking up all six of the Grammys she was nominated for. What did you think of the show? There weren't many surprises on our end, but we want to hear from you. And whose performances were the best in your book? Any memorable moments? Thanks for watching with us!
11:22 p.m.: As predicted, Adele snags album of the year as well. Hugs all around and a few tears as she accepts the award. "This record was inspired by something really normal, everyone's gone through it, which is a rubbish relationship," she says. There's nothing more refreshing than a real, talented artist showing heartfelt gratitude.
11:19 p.m.: Speaking of looking amazing: Diana Ross!
11:13 p.m.: Adele picks up record of the year for "Rolling in the Deep." And we agree with those of you who've said she looks amazing tonight - we're loving the hair!
11:11 p.m.: The Grammys appears to explain the Etta James omission from the memorial segment via Twitter: "Re: Etta James tribute was by Bonnie Raitt & @AliciaKeys at the top of the telecast & @Questlove gave special attn to Don Cornelius." However, that still leaves the question of Vesta Williams....or did they include her, and we missed it?
11:07 p.m.: Nicki Minaj clearly makes Drake proud. That intro was adorable though. And, leave it to Ms. Minaj to bring the theatrics - Barbies, enjoying it?
10:57 p.m.: How are you enjoying this tribute to dance/electronica? We went from Guetta, Brown and Weezy to Foo Fighters and deadmau5. Our vote? One of the more enjoyable sets for sure.
10:54 p.m.: Best R&B album Grammy winner Chris Brown is performing once again, and David Guetta is holding down the turntables, looking like he's having the time of his life. We also see Lil Wayne has moved on from those jeggings to pajama pants...
10:45 p.m.: Classic performance. Well done, J Hud!
10:42 p.m.: Jennifer Hudson takes the stage to sing her tribute to Whitney Houston. Get the tissues ready... You can see the emotion on her face as she does "I Will Always Love You." A standing O for her control during this performance, truly a top-notch singer.
10:35 p.m.: Still hanging in there? We don't have far to go, now that Bon Iver has picked up the best new artist Grammy.
10:23 p.m.: And now, after The Band Perry and Blake Shelton, for the man himself : Glen Campbell. He told us on the red carpet that he was a little nervous for this performance, but you wouldn't know it watching him now. All together: "Like a rhinestone cowboy..."
10:10 p.m.: OK, not sure she was totally ready for that comeback - she didn't seem to be singing with as much power as usual, but c'mon, she had throat surgery not long ago. The audience gives her major love regardless.
10:05 p.m.: Adele time! Are we the only ones worried about her voice? Hope she's totally recuperated and ready to go. We need those pipes, Adele! (Also: Called that she was going to sing "Rolling in the Deep," but we hope she surprises us and does another cut from "21.")
9:59 p.m.: Guess we won't get to see Taylor Swift's "OMG, I won?!?!?" face for this one: Best country album goes to Lady Antebellum.
9:55 p.m.: Interesting that Katy Perry went with "E.T." to open her Grammys set. Wouldn't have been our top song choice, but she quickly moved into "Part of Me." If Adele sings "Rolling in the Deep," she'd be in good company for spurned lover songs.
9:52 p.m.: Really, could the song of the year Grammy have gone to anyone else BUT Adele? "Rolling in the Deep" was played seemingly without ceasing in 2011.
9:41 p.m.: The Civil Wars did a fantastic open for Taylor Swift (who's won two Grammys for this track, "Mean," by the way).
9:39 p.m.: Chris Brown takes the Grammy for best R&B album! He gets a standing O from many in the audience. Acceptance speech: "I gotta thank God for this opportunity, and for the Grammys giving me this opportunity. I'm nervous, I don't know what to say." He also thanks his fans, Team Breezy, whom we guess he unbuttoned all those buttons on his shirt for...
9:32 p.m.: Love that Stevie Wonder just gave us a (mini) impromptu performance. Grammys, give him a piano and a mic, please. Paul McCartney's up!
9:23 p.m.: Fifty years later, and the Beach Boys are still at it. #Respect.
9:20 p.m.: At least one of you has raised the red flag of lip syncing during tonight's show, but Adam Levine is giving "Surfer Girl" all he's got in this Beach Boys reunion performance, and Mark Foster on "Wouldn't It Be Nice" isn't doing half bad, either. It's impossible to not start dancing to that track.
9:16 p.m.: Dave Grohl says, "Rather than use the fanciest computers you can buy, we made ['Walk'] in my garage with some microphones and a tape machine," and he thanks the track's producer. Lesson? "The human element of making music is what's most important," Grohl tells us. "Learning your craft."
9:15 p.m.: After that cute, yet awkward, introduction, we now know the winner of best rock performance Grammy: The Foo Fighters for "Walk"! That makes five awards out of a possible six for the band.
9:04 p.m.: After another shout-out to Whitney Houston, Rihanna was joined by Chris Martin and the rest of Coldplay for "Princess of China." Coldplay faced some criticism for using Ri Ri on the track, but Martin said in the band's defense, "at this point, [Coldplay has] nothing to lose" when it comes to trying new things.
8:56 p.m.: So, is LL Cool J keeping the same hat all night? What happened to host costume changes? But moving on: A now-blonde Rihanna is singing "We Found Love." Coldplay should be making an appearance any moment now...
8:47 p.m.: Foo Fighters, who've taken the stage, are cleaning up at the Grammys. They've snagged four, including the best rock album Grammy for "Wasting Light." We're not gonna lie - we wish we were rocking out in the audience, too right now!
8:42 p.m.: In case you're curious, a quick zoom in on Kelly Clarkson's wrist tattoo reveals that it says "Love Them More" next to an image of a cross. What'd you think of her performance with Jason Aldean?
8:39 p.m.: The best rap performance Grammy went to Kanye West and Jay-Z for "Otis" (anyone surprised? We can't say we are...), but neither of them were there to pick it up. (Where are you, Yeezy?) Up next: Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, fresh off her solid national anthem performance.
8:30 p.m.: Chris Brown takes the stage early on in the show with a dance-heavy performance of "Turn Up the Music" and "Beautiful People." Any guesses on what those backup dancers are supposed to be? One thing's for sure: The guy can dance.
8:25 p.m.: And now for the best pop solo performance category - talk about stacked competition. The Grammy goes to....Adele's "Someone Like You"! In her acceptance speech, Adele says, "Since it's a vocal performance, I should find my doctors I suppose, for bringing my voice back." Adore her sense of humor! This is the singer's third Grammy of the night, just three more to go. Do you think she'll sweep it?
8:23 p.m.: Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt take the stage to sing Etta James' classic, "A Sunday Kind of Love," with Keys on the keys (of course) and Raitt on the guitar. Great collaboration.
8:15 p.m.: "Runaway Baby" is easily one of our fave songs off "Doo-Wops and Hooligans." We're not sure how much we love Bruno Mars' gold jacket and bow tie combo, but we definitely heart him and his nod to James Brown with his performance.
8:12 p.m.: The Recording Academy did a solid job in picking LL Cool J to lead us through this night, we think. That was a pro move of segueing from honoring Whitney to Bruno Mars' performance. What do you think?
8:10 p.m.: The crowd gives the clip of Whitney singing "I Will Always Love You" a standing O. LL then calls out Adele - who looks fantastic, albeit shocked that he singled her out - Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Tony Bennett and Carrie Underwood. He promises that this night will be full of dancing, singing, and healing - oh, and music.
8:08 p.m.: LL Cool J opens the show saying, "There's no way around this, we've had a death in our family. The only thing that feels right is to begin with a prayer, for a woman we loved, for our fallen sister, Whitney Houston." The prayer was brief, but a nice way to acknowledge what's on everyone's minds.
8:05 p.m.: The applause is thundering from the audience! What'd you think of that opening set?
8:02 p.m.: And we're kicking off the night with a performance from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band, starting with his new track "We Take Care of Our Own."

yes carrie Underwood did say tony Bennett's name wrong!!!
Loved Bonnie Raitt & Alicia Keys tribute to Etta James, but poor job on Etta & Don Cornelius not being included in the Memorium . I turned OFF Chris Brown....He should never have been on the show.!!!!! Loved Bruno Mars...........I thought The show was So So......have seen so many better productions over the years.
Don't know what behind the scenes action was, but it didn't help the show this year....lackluster...............
The Grammy's had more class this year;) No drunks, grabbing mikes from winners, cussing etc. Paul McCartney had a hard time hitting the notes in "My Valentine". It was disasterous move to have The Beach Boys very badly lipsyncing to their voices 50 yrs ago. They all look/move like men in their 80's. LipSync'ing was off on a few performances which is amateur night. Adele was so refreshing seeing she actually sang for real. We didn't need two doses of Paul McCartney. He too no longer is award night performance worthy. Whoever produces these shows seems to look more for who is in the media right now rather than 'who is super talented'?
Bonnie Raitt n Alicia Keys did a nice job n Kelly Clarkson. who the hell is that jerk that won best new artist?
Did anyone catch Bruno Mars stomping like a sorry loser when he lost to Adele? Taylor Swift deserved the standing O.
I was really impressed by Bruno Mars. It's obvious that Bonnie Raitt can really sing. Jennifer Hudson is no Whitney, but it was a nice thought. Blake Shelton has no vocal range. Glen Campbell did great considering. Have never bought a Nicky Minag or Alicia Keys CD and never will...yikes.
Adele is fat
All the adwards are is a waste of time and money. Who you know and who you blow. Just a joke.
R.I.P. Whitney Houston and prayers to her girl and family. No Grammy to Adam Lambert? Another and unfair failure! Adele, way to go! You do deserved it! I enjoyed reading your blog this time! News-worthy! Thanks!

I love whitney houstin for who she is and she's at peace w/God.I enjoyed the music.
Common the real emcee should of performed...the state of hiphop scares me...
I will miss my girl Whitney. We all have issues folks; give her a break. At least OUR bad decisions weren't broadcast all over the world!
She was still blessed by God to have that gorgeous powerful voice and such class and poise.
Beautiful...no one can ever mimmick it. Truly she was one of a kind.
The crack references made here tonight magnify just how G-H-E-T-T-O some folks are.
I thought adele was black, sung that american boy song, whoa
Nicki minaj, pure trash, garbage. So many legends and REAL artists in the audience and they have to sit through THAT. Its almost embarrasing. She does not even deserve to be sitting among all those artists. Im just talking about her "singing". Im not even gonna mention how offensive she was. What a disgrace. Just dying for attention. They should've taken her ass to the dumpster after that performance.
How could the Grammy Awards not mentioned or show "Vesta Williams" who passed away on September 22. 2011? She was such a remarkable talent, right up there with Whitney Houston et al...this over-sight just adds more pain to an already sad night for the so-called music industry
Chris Brown sucked. All he showed is that he can jump around a big ass boxes with some fools.
It was an ok show, loved Adele and Rihanna! Nicki Minaj was simply horrible, she should've stayed home.
Nicki Minaj is just a horrible performer and singer. Even before this slow motion train wreck tonight, she proved she has no talent. Some of the other new artists blew her away! It would have been great to see Paul McCartney give the Grammy's a big FU by not performing after Nicki Minaj. He's too classy and professional to do it but it sure would have made a point. He doesn't need to degrade any religion to make his point that great music, regardless of genre, should inspire and entertain all people.
Im in between the spirit worlds. im floating on a cloud trying to smoke it thinking its crack
Due to the recent death of Whitney Houston, crack prices are now at a 20 year low.
"Crack here!...Get your crack here!"
So not funny
The lineup of guitarists for McCartney's "The End" were Bruce Springsteen, David Grohl (Foo Fighters), Joe Walsh (The Eagles) and the two regular guitarists in McCartney's touring band Brian Ray and Rusty Anderson. Great performance. No lip syncing required but air guitar suggested.
Nikki Manaj needs Jesus
Does anyone know- was Lady Gaga doped up on valium and duck-taped to her chair tonight?
You need to keep your stupid childish fantasy's to yourself buddy! I doubt that your statement is true or even provable! Nor does anyone really care!! My comment is all you get, go too bed!! LOL
Happy for her, such a talent.
Glad she thank her Doctors and NOT GOD! True Brit!
Who can name all the guitarists and their respective groups- on the McCartney stage finish?
Two were obvious....Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band. and Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters. I thought maybe Iggy Pop and Steve Vai were two of the others....not sure of the last one..

The only thing good about the grammys was adele...everyone else was terrible.....these award shows have gotten so ghetto...you beat ur woman and two yrs later ur back to winning cheesy awards...then losers like u guys talk about how great they are ..lmfao
Nicki Minaj pure trash!!! As a Catholic I was more than offended and turned off the grammys show.
Nikki Manaj...what a disgusting display. Totally disrespectful. Shame on the producers of this years show for allowing that performance. What a shame to put a act of that calibur on the same stage as some of the legendary artists that performed.
I totally agree!!! A disgrace! Who are the producers these days? Some twenty year old something that slept with or convinced the executives their ideas are worth while????
You're so correct! The Grammys have gone to the dogs! The noise, the junk that supposedly represents music is disgusting and sickening. Where are the jazz and gospel representatives. People who like music want to hear music. For the last four or five years, all you get is yelling, rapping, musicless noise and disgusting gyrating mess! Even Paul McCartney was a mess. Where's the music and ENTERTAINMENT? Bonnie Raitt, Alicia Keys, Tony Bennett and his singing partner(I don't remenmber her name),Stevie Wonder and his 5 seconds(What an insult to not have him perform),
and of course Jennifer Hudson were the only decent performers.BRING BACK THE MUSIC!!!!!!!!
Sleeper performance of the night: Glen Campbell. Wont get any press tomorrow, but he was great.
Where was the tribute to Etta James? She was one of the leading contributors to womens' music. This omission is just a travesty on the part of the producers.
It was early in the show, Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt did an Etta song.
Bonnie Raitt and another singer (newer African American singer) sang a duet of Etta James song. She had a separate tribuite from the in memoriam. The same for Don Cornelius.
kanye is acting real funny by not being there, jay i can understand, nothing is bigger than the grammys.
The Nikki Manaj performance was a wreck!! Not worthy of a grammy stage appearance!! Period!! I'm sure more than 80% of the population that watches this event agrees! What has the grammy awards come too??
Nicki Manaj........give it up. you sucked
Chris Brown was awesome.....wanted to dance
You go Adele......you deserve it!
Grammys are so boring..my balls fell to sleep.....i told my woman to git n da kitchin and fix me a pie....id love to be sitting in the audience at grammys and cut a nice stinky fart...ur all posers
Grammys wont be complete until MIA gives me the finger on TV.
They forgot Etta James in the memoriam!!
they forgot to list Don Cornelius as well. And by the way, terrible tribute to Whitney. Not Jennifer Hudson performance, she was great, the recording academy and President, were terrible.
Jeez, the Grammys sure do luv Chris Brown. Next year just name it "Chris Brown Grammy Show."
Q: what do you say to a Chris Brown girlfriend who has 2 black eyes?
A: nothing to say because she's been told twice already.
Did anyone notice they forgot to list Etta James in the In Memoriam?
As usual, Adele was the only one with actual talent who didn't rely on techno b.s.
Whitney houston in hell smoking rick james crack pipe and she gave birth to michael"i love little boys" jackson roflmao!!
Did Carrie Underwood get Tony Bennett's name wrong? Sounded like she said Bennis...
She sure did. Both my boyfriend and I noticed it. How the heck does that happen? Don't they have earbuds on or something so that the tech people can direct them? I woulda thought that after she got his name wrong the first time, someone would have made here aware. Oh, well, they both sounded terrific.
oh yea she said bennis twice
She did say Beniss, twice...but then he thanked her..."Thank you, Katie", not Carrie. Fair enough!
absolutely she said Tony Bennis twice...omg what was she thinking.
yep she sure did lmao i thought i was the only one who caught that
Speaking of Adele that is. There's some sorry folk posting here – all wanting to get a hit on a crack pipe.
Yeah, woulda been cool if she sang again.
I would watch that too....but I would need some crack to smoke first.
Ok , she was an awesome talent but now that she's gone let's forget her.
Michael Jackson the pedophile is getting butt-r@ped by Hitler in hell right now...while Whitney Houston smokes crack and watches.
You are a sad little person.........there, I gave you a response so you can get the attention you so desperately crave.
What? You still believe in these ancient myths of people who were slaughtered by the romans on a daily basis? Please..The great one is all about love and forgiveness...His heart is larger than the known universe so it's all good....
Omg the show was gr8!!!! I enjoyed it alot u go Adele,Taylor Swift,Katy Perry, and Bruno Mars.
Was really moving to watch as the camera quietly held Adele's face as her peers and music legends honored her performance. Was really touching. Bless 'er.
you are so right elena
Thats good that they are doing this for whittney houston.. but what about michael jackson? hes the most populear guy too.. you guys always leave him out no matter what.. alive or not.... very sad...
hey peeps e mail me at email@example.com thanks
I LOVE THE GRAMMY AWARDS
i never missed 1 grammy awards show
did you see bruno mars do the slits
Every year the Grammy is getting worst and worst. It is so boring... and then you got these groups up on stage singing that cant sing. Whats really going on America!
You might be right but Bruno Mars Tore it up last night!! The only true bright spot of the show!!! I never even heard of him before last night and was blown away..The kid is tight!
hey everybody the california raisins got to perform...even if it was trash
Whoever is writing this blog is a moron. What's to respect about a bunch of geezers standing on a state and lipsynching BADLY to a recorded song from five decades ago. They didn't even remember half the words you could tell.
Sad to see such a great talent go so young....goodbye crackhead whitney
What A RIP OFF! They hype the reuniting and performance of the freaking Beach Boys and the whole thing is a lip sync FARCE!! SErious does anyone actually know how to sing anymore? It's all fake.
Dont no why every1 so sad. i'm puffing on the clouds up here. its just like crack.
Whitney Houston is smoking crack with Rick James in hell right now.
Really? Do you think you're funny by being so insensitive?
....and they are waiting for you to join them....idiot!
is Three Days Grace gonna preform tonight?
I never heard of Adele.
Do you live in a box?
only whitney houston's tributes could make me DVR that awful show and i'm grateful i did or i would not have watched it live. i haven't watched the grammys since the early nineties for this reason.with the exception of the music allowed for and through the tributes to her, especially jennifer hudson and LL cool j the show was horrendous. i don't know who adele is but she sounds like a cat caught under a rocking chair. never listened to bruce and never will he sounds like a dylan reject and dylan is bad enough. i can't believe people still think the beatles are worthy of any hype today if the ever were. if this is music today.... well no wonder i didn't know who the majority of these people are. gawd awful.
We're trapped in lip sync city
MY HEART IS TURNING FLIPS OF JOY AND PAIN, THIS GRAMMY YEAR WILL BE THE BEST EVER......R.I.P. MY GIRL WHIT
Who gives a crap. They all suck.
go nicki minaj!!!!!!!*team nicki minaj &*team roman
poor lost child...that was garbage, recycled two year old lady gaga garbage, actually 20 year old madonna garbage. I guess nicki is Lady Gaga now, no longer lil kim
I can't wait to see Adele's performance.
I thought Bruce and his new song were fantastic!
