A Chris Rock/Chappelle tour? Rock is trying to make it happen

Jay-Z and Kanye West might be atop the music business, but as a duo they’ve got nothing on comedic titans Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle.

According to Rock, the two stand-up icons have been in talks to hit the road together.

“I’ve been talking to Chappelle a lot,” Rock told New York magazine's Vulture at the Sundance Film Festival. “Been trying to get Chappelle to go on tour.”

Rock shared this news while doing press for his new flick, “What To Expect When You’re Expecting,” and of course it's been Chappelle who has been all but missing from spotlight.

Aside from an interview with a San Francisco radio station in August, rumors running wild about a “Chappelle Show” return and secret gigs throughout the country, the man himself has more or less stayed out of the spotlight.

Perhaps Rock - and a little inspiration from Jay-Z and Kanye’s platinum collaborative album, “Watch the Throne” - will pull Chappelle out of work limbo.

“You know I’m not the hard one,” Rock joked. “I’m trying to make that happen. After seeing Kanye and Jay-Z, I was like, ‘Me and Dave should do this.’”

Something we all agree would be "cray" - if it comes to pass.

Chris Rock is not funny to me but Chapelle is HILARIOUS! Dave would be better off pairing with Kevin Hart. As the comments indicate, Chris Rock can be polarizing.

Making jokes on race is not that shocking or new. Technically the man that started it all was Paul Mooney. ( Genius ) might I add that created Chris and Dave. Louie C.K. is amazing discussing racial politics because one he respects people history and he learned from the best. Frankly I would totally welcome a Rock / Chappelle tour.

Being racist in your act is one thing. However, continual use of the "N" word is no longer acceptable, even coming from a black man. People are being criminally charged for that word...athletes are suspended & fined for using that word, yet these hypocrites can't get 3 minutes into their act without using that word. Garbage. Hypocritical garbage.

Chris Rocks sucks IMO-Chappelle is so much better than him. I don't like any of the racist comments and also Chris Rock created a movie that (once again) stereotypes black women even more. I have hair down to my waist THAT GROWS FROM MY SCALP thank you very much. We didn't need people to have one more thing to try and group us all together since some people seem to get their education from TV and movies unfortunately.

J I see your point but I think the point of "Good Hair" was to dispel the BLACK community's obsession with what's on your head. The obvious obsession is laced throughout your comment. You obviously hold your hair in high regard...but why? He explained the reasoning but failed to identify the historical context that the black community still maintains when it comes to identifying good vs. bad hair.

Joe. You clearly do not watch much comedy. Putting aside that your argument is stupid just from the perspective it comes from it's downright WRONG! Plenty of white comedians do start jokes like that. The only one who looks racist here is you.

So how is it ok to make fun of Fat People but not ok to make fun of race? If these two guys were racist and people took their jokes seriously then there would already have been second civil war. Heck, Rock would have single handedly started war with China. Those who think they are racist, need to go and do self assessment. Maybe you are the one who is racist. And BTW, I am not "person of color" and therefore I am not being biased.

Joe does bring up a very good point. Stupid political correctness has ruined comedy. If someone takes offence at a joke then they really need to be in therapy because they are very insecure about themselves and their race/beliefs.
