Wes Anderson goes to camp with 'Moonrise Kingdom'Even if we didn't include his name in the headline, we're betting you could tell the trailer below is for a Wes Anderson movie. After taking us into the animated world of the "Fantastic Mr. Fox" in 2009, Anderson takes us to summer camp with the live action "Moonrise Kingdom," expected to have a limited release in late May.
The story follows a pair of adolescent paramours, Suzy and Sam, in a New England town during the '60s. When Suzy and Sam decide to run away, they send their family and friends into a frenzied search. Anderson, who co-wrote the project with Roman Coppola, may still stylistically be in the realm of animation. Film School Rejects points to the "impossible tree forts...and lightning strikes" of the trailer, while Entertainment Weekly adds that the clip leaves the impression that Anderson "was inspired by the notion of trying to make an 'animated' film using live action." How thrilled are you for Anderson's return, and what did you think of "Moonrise Kingdom's" trailer? |

I always enjoy Wes Anderson films. They are quirky, imaginative and funny; everything that many films lack. He imagines a world very different from our own, but one in which we wouldn't mind living.
Awesome new collection of actors to work with WA along with some old reliables. This will be my must see movie of 2012. Just when I felt there was too much smiling in films, Wes saves the day again.
Looks like a renter to me.
The trailer reminded me of the movie The Royal Tenenbaums, quirky, a bit dark and awkwardly funny. I like that it is not just a sappy chick flick or an over rated action movie. It looks to actually be a movie that tells a story. I'm very much looking forward to seeing it.
Looks good to me: great comedic cast, young love, nostalgia, scout camp. It will be one of the few I bother watching in the movie theater.
I concur my good friend. I found the program to be boorish and infantile.
how did you see it already?
I watched this last night and it really wasnt all its hyped up to be. Honestly me and my family found it to be quite boring.
I'm always excited to see that a new Wes Anderson film is coming. He is one of the best filmmakers of this generation. Always imaginative. Always original. I can't wait to see this.
