Zooey Deschanel files for divorceZooey Deschanel has taken the next step in her breakup from husband Ben Gibbard and has filed for divorce. The 31-year-old "New Girl" actress reportedly filed the paperwork on December 27 in Los Angeles, citing "irreconcilable differences." Their official split date has been reported as, interestingly enough, the same day Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from her estranged husband Kris Humphries: October 31. Deschanel's marriage to Gibbard lasted a bit longer than Kardashian's 72-day dalliance with matrimony, however, as the couple were married in 2009. A rep for indie rocker Gibbard told CNN in November that the two had separated, with reports saying that their split was mutual and amicable. At the time, a source relayed to People magazine that the intent was to move toward divorce.
