It has been a mystery for decades, and it just may be solved now.

Scientists say they may have discovered what caused birds to slam into homes in Monterey Bay, California in the summer of 1961. The mysterious event inspired Alfred Hitchcock's famous classic "The Birds," which was released in 1963.

Louisiana State University ocean environmentalist Sibel Bargu told USA Today that it appeared that the birds were suffering from poison.

This past fall, TV viewers came to know actress Beth Behrs as one half of the wise-cracking duo on the popular new sitcom, "2 Broke Girls."

The 26-year-old plays a former rich girl-turned-waitress named Caroline, who had zero experience working at a diner (or anything remotely like it) prior to getting down on her luck.

In reality, Behrs told CNN, she'd once joined the ranks of other struggling actors and spent some time working in the food service industry.

Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane celebrated the new year with a new arrival.

The couple welcomed a baby girl on December 28, People magazine reports. She's their second child, as the pair are also parents to daughter Billie Beatrice, who will be 2 in March.

Gayheart, 40, and Dane, 39, chose the name Georgia Geraldine, and a rep for the actress told People that both "mom and baby are happy and healthy."

Gayheart's rep added that Billie "is thrilled to be a big sister," and "Grey's Anatomy" heartthrob Dane is "getting ready to live in a house full of ladies."

Kirstie Alley wants to help people get in shape in the new year, and better yet, she's trying to do it free of charge.

The actress and former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant is encouraging folks to dance for fitness with her newly launched program, 100 Days of Dance.

"I want everyone to experience some version of  'Dancing with the Stars,'" the 60-year-old told People magazine.

Prank show "Punk'd" is making a comeback on MTV this spring, but this time with twice the celebrities.

In the new season, Ashton Kutcher will hand over his hosting duties each week to other famous faces, including Justin Bieber, Dax Shepard and Kellan Lutz.

Miley Cyrus also takes over for one scenario, as we see in a sneak peek from MTV. In the clip, the 19-year-old singer/actress gets some help from Kelly Osbourne in pulling a prank on Khloe Kardashian.

If you resolve to do anything this year, perhaps it should be what you're most afraid to try.

That's what documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock is encouraging seven New Yorkers to do with his Web docu-series "Failure Club," based on the premise that the less afraid of failure you are, the more you can achieve.

"We all have that one thing that, for some reason, we’ve kind of put off. Whether we were afraid, or we just felt like we didn’t have time or the support from friends or family, " Spurlock says.

It’s been a while since preacher Ted Haggard made headlines.

You may recall that back in 2006, a male escort claimed he had sex with Haggard and that Haggard bought drugs from him. Haggard denied having sex with the man and said he only bought the drugs, but didn’t actually use them.

Either way, it did some serious damage to the then minister's image…for a while that is. "I went through a scandal five years ago, and most marital problems aren’t nearly as serious as that one was and we survived it,” Haggard said.

Kathy Griffin did tell her New Year's Eve co-host Anderson Cooper to "be very worried" about Saturday night's show, so you can't say she didn't warn him.

As the duo brought in 2012 with CNN's New Year's Eve broadcast live from Times Square - complete with a "no nudity" and "no swearing" sign in place - Kathy channeled her inner Mother Monster and disrobed.

When the camera panned back from a break, there was Anderson in his layered sweaters, and Kathy - in a black lace bra.
