Dan Aykroyd joins Ferrell's 'Dog Fight'?According to TheWrap.com, comedy legend Dan Aykroyd has a new project in the works. The actor is said to be joining forces with Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis for an upcoming comedy. The funnymen have signed on to political parody flick “Dog Fight,” penned by “Eastbound & Down” writer Shawn Harwell. Galifianakis, Ferrell and Aykroyd will be starring and producing, along with Ferrell's pal Adam McKay. Jay Roach is directing the movie, which has Ferrell and Galifianakis portraying bumbling politicians fighting for a congressional seat in North Carolina. Aykroyd's role hasn’t been announced yet.
Hopefully, Will Ferrell will be able to put his hilarious George W. Bush impersonation to use. The film is slated for release in August, 2012. |

Will Ferrell + Dan Aykroyd + Political comedy = gold. Every time.
Aykroyd has not been funny since Saturday Night Live in the late 1970s.
Got to see the filming of Dog Fight today
very exciting
I saw this actor in an old comedy called "Neighbors" and he impressed me as an absolute genius. Every time he said something he just put a smile on my face. It was just the way he said it. I am so glad to read about this news and I cannot wait to see "Dog Fight" in August!
Neighbors was not a good movie.
OMG this is going to be freaking awesome!! Wow. I am all over this.. When great comedic minds like this collide, sparks are bound to fly in the most unpredictable ways possible.. Love it!

Did you not read the story you just wrote? Its a film about a congressional race. Why would Will Ferrel portray that character?
Been a fan of Dan's for years. Good to see him still getting some roles. I worry about how heavy he's gotten though. I'm just afraid he'll have a heart attack or stroke. Would hate to lose this wonderful talent before his time, like we did with John Belushi (and yes I am aware that drugs killed him).
I really enjoy that Crystal Head Mr. Aykroyd.
how many chins does he have
He might as well , seeing that Ghostbusters 3 is a Deal duck .
Dan is the man! He and Galifianakis should be able to put people in the seats that may have been put off by Will Ferrell. Ferrell, simply not funny.
Woohoo! firsties......I have always loved Dan Akroyd. He is a great personality and helped a lot with firefighters and in Louisiana after Katrina. Love ya man! PS Gross Pointe Blank and Evolution were a hoot!
