Chris Harrison has picked up plenty of experience as a reality show host thanks to his duties on ABC's 'The Bachelor" and its spin-off, "The Bachelorette."
“Initially I was hoping it would stay on the air for a few episodes because no one ever knows if something will resonate or not,” he told CNN. “But it has had this unbelievable run and has lasted a decade.”
“The Bachelor” returns on January 2, and with it comes another season of drama, tears and surprises. Otherwise known as exactly what die-hard fans want. “Ben [Flajnik, the new 'Bachelor'] is great…It’s an amazing ride for our show and probably one of the best,” said Harrison.
This season, like the ones before, will have 26 contestants - including one much older woman. Harrison tells us there's also "a girl during the first two nights [who] comes off as emotional." (But if you've seen the show, that's a familiar scenario.)
Even after so many years, "The Bachelor" is often one of the most anticipated reality shows of the season, and Harrison thinks he knows why: “It's escapism, and something everybody wants, which is a relationship,” he explained. “Because everybody wants love and we enjoy seeing it.”
If he could pick celebrities to be on those shows, he says he'd go with George Clooney and Jennifer Aniston.
“He is the ultimate and most unattainable bachelor…and I think Jennifer Aniston has been so troubled in love, so she would be a perfect candidate,” he said.
Keep dreaming Harrison, but wouldn’t that make for excellent TV!
Rachel M. August 12, 2011 Ok Bachelor Pad of cuorse you should know I watched it I have a love for Trashy TV just like you hahaha1. I hated Vienna during Jake's season; then hated Jake during the break up and once again, hating Vienna even more after the premiere of Bachelor Pad and loving Jake again even though he was dumb for giving her a rose2. Kasey is completely different than he was on Ali's season but I guess that's the Vienna manipulation coming through3. Josh watched the intros of contestants with me and was shocked when it came to Erica he was like SERIOUSLY?!4. Oh Justin gotta have a big exit as usual5. I don't think I'm really cheering for anyone maybe just against Kasey and Vienna lol
I can't even being to imagine the cat fights on this show if Clooney was to do it. They are bad enough from what I see now, and I only watch what is on the commercials!
well...clooney's no more perfect than anyone else, but he personifies the plight of the modern american male: why would any guy get married, once the female turns into a whiney, demanding shrew? (which usually takes about 6 months at most).
most other men just go gay, but god bless george for hangin in there.
Cloon-tang don't play that..he keeps it real.
You know, the world can be a harsh, confusing and dishonest place. People can get pulled under the waves of the mixed signals in life. When things don't go well some begin to point outward and fixate on various conspiracy notions that, in one way or another, explain or justify to them their lack of accomplishment in life. This person is crying out for something that is missing...perhaps a sense of value.
Doesn't someone monitor these things....the guy spewing such hatred needs to b arrested for his threats..how can a person even live with him\herself with so much garbage rolling oit of their brain? Some one find this person and get him HELP..we don't need this garbage!!!!!
