Is Debra Messing dating her 'Smash' co-star?Debra Messing is making headlines, but it's not for her new NBC show "Smash" - well, not exactly. After announcing her split from her husband of 10 years last week, Messing is rumored to be dating her "Smash" co-star, Will Chase. (The show, which also stars "Idol" alum Katharine McPhee, is a midseason drama about what goes on behind-the-scenes on Broadway.)
But back to Messing: Rumors began circulating earlier this week that the 43-year-old actress is dating Chase, and a "show insider" tells People that the gossip is true. According to the magazine, Chase, 41, recently separated from his own spouse, Broadway actress Stephanie Gibson. The couple is said to be getting a divorce. The source claims that Messing and Chase have been dating for about six weeks, saying that "it all happened very fast, and it's a very difficult situation." On December 20, Messing's rep told CNN that the actress had "privately separated" from husband Daniel Zelman earlier this year. "The decision was mutual, and they remain supportive of one another and committed to raising their [7-year-old] son as a family," the rep said in a statement.
